Gezellig tafelen in Gent sinds 2011. Intussen is Fou d’O, een vaste waarde en niet meer weg te denken uit de Gentse bistronomie. Eigenaar Alex Maes maakte van het stijlvolle pand een uitzonderlijk mooie brasserie waar het heerlijk tafelen is. Het ruime zomerterras is ongetwijfeld één van de mooiste terrassen uit Gent en omgeving. Voor gasten die met de plezierboot wensen te komen is er een aanlegsteiger. Al deze facetten maken van Fou d’O brasserie een van de meest gewaardeerde aanwinsten van de laatste jaren in Gent. Een troef is ook de ruime parking aan het restaurant. Binnenin nodigt het hedendaags interieur en de stijlvolle en hartelijke bediening uit om gezellig te genieten, van een uitgebreide menukaart en een mooie wijnkaart.

Fancy restaurant at a pleasant location along the water with slightly sophisticated typical Belgian cuisine.
Prices are on the high side though (even the drinks), and the personnel very friendly but a bit too “sophisticated” to my liking (I prefer authenticity over sophisticated manners which transform personnel into polite robots).

The staff is very welcoming and the food was simply top nodge. The burrata to share is full of flavour, the linguine vongole and moullieux as well. The fresh produce like tomato’s and strawberries are sun riped, and that shows in how their dishes taste.

Very upmarket restaurant. Great service but my request for tap water was received with derision. Food was tasty and well prepared. Don’t bother with starters…. Mains are enough. Would go again. The yachts and the flash cars outside speak volumes as to the clientele using this venue.

A thoroughly enjoyable night out in Gent. The dinner was well worth the excursion outside the city center. Our table location was perfect for a quiet romantic dinner. The server was friendly, gracious and knowledgeable. We had the goat cheese salad to share, which was very tasty and of generous proportion. As a main course, we had pesto linguine which was fresh and expertly prepared. I recommend this restaurant for a high quality dining experience.
