Food was good. The burgers were seasoned well. Wings were a bit overpriced ($20 for 7 wings) but the sauce/seasoning was tasty. Not worth the price in my opinion. The kids spaghetti was very large portion for a young kid, almost adult size. Service and atmosphere was good overall. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this place for families with younger kids as the kids meals are overpriced and don’t include a drink.

This was a great discovery! It’s located on beautiful resort property near the bottom of ski lifts. After visiting their incredible Skybridge, we chose here for lunch. Warmly greeted, no wait, our server had great recommendations too. The salads, French onion soup and sandwiches were delicious! Competitively priced and lots of charm in the decor.

Dropped in for some food after night skiing. Atmosphere was awesome, Hiram , Maddie, and Nate were bartending. They were great. The Tavern Burger and fries was phenomenal. A little pricey but worth it.

Incredibly delicious food! New chef is making a name for himself with his amazing, five star tasty dishes.
Plenty of seating indoors and out. Amazing views of Boyne mountain and the surrounding Grand hotel. Live guitar player nearby, fire pits, cornhole, arcade and many other things to do. But the food! We can’t get over how unexpectedly delicious the food is from a little tavern like this.

Omg, the food is amazing. The chicken sandwich is easily in my top 5. Fantastic crunch, moisture and flavor. Definitely upgrade to truffle fries and sweet potato fries, they are exquisite. The Rueben is also delicious, suggest to order it together with the chicken sandwich if you’re a couple!

Tastttyyy foods, solid vibes, a little pricey but treat yoself! It can get busy but that feeds into the vibes and atmosphere. Karie was our server. Super kind and paid attention to us mentioning we wanted to split a burger when we ordered it. Fully expected to manhandle a burger in two, but it came out cut in half and served in two plates with each its own batch of onion rings. You’re awesome Karie!

We came in on a Tuesday & were sat right away. Our server, Andrea, was excellent and had great service. The food was nothing short of top notch!! French onion soup is a must try, and their grilled cheese is exceptional!! Everything was great & we will definitely be back again. We have eaten at every restaurant at the resort and this is by far the best!!

We just love this little place! The service is always friendly and attentive. Everything we’ve ever tried has great flavor, is served at the called-for temp, and is plated/presented with regard for “eating with our eyes first”. Portions are also generous (of course, not generous enough with how yummy everything tastes ). We’ve had the burger/fries, Cobb salad, salmon (twice), chicken sandwich, wings, walleye… yuuuuuummmO!

I have always had a great experience at 40 Acres Tavern. The food is consistently great, and it is always a fun, lively atmosphere.

The only minor note is that my espresso martini was a bit small, but aside from that, everything was excellent as usual.

I would absolutely recommend making a reservation ahead of time, especially if you want to book one of the igloos. It is always a good time and I will definitely be back.

Very attractive (good marketing) and inviting exterior… with a generally typical menu at mountaintop prices. I would expect a $24 cheeseburger to be memorable, at least for an hour or two. The bruschetta was a recommendation from the server as an alternative to the artichoke dip… bad call. For extra hungry folks (our son) the Grilled Cheese Sandwich can be modified by stuffing a burger patty into the middle of it but that is not on the printed menu. Overall, not bad, just not exciting. For the relatively captive audience of a ski lodge I suppose it was alright, but the Trophy Room (under the clock tower) would be our choice.
