We had lunch at Fortune Star on 380. A wide menu selection is offered. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, steamed rice, and Egg drop soup. An egg roll was included in the lunch specials, too. The food was tasty, but it didn’t seem complete. No crispy noodles were served with the egg drop soup. That was a bummer. The Kung Poa Chicken was served with Broccoli and Bell Pepper. But there were only two pieces of Bell Pepper in the sauce. The chicken was very good, but the fried breading was very tough. I needed a knife to cut through it. The dining room was clean but it felt like being in a white room. The service was excellent. The guy at the cash register was helpful and attentive. Thank you!

We ordered three dishes and everything was delicious: shrimp Thai Basil fried rice, General Tso spicy Tofu and Eggplant in garlic sauce. Very delicious! Service was fast and efficient. The guy working was very friendly. $39 for 3 meals with generous portion sizes. We will be back

Not for me. Maybe the dishes we ordered just aren’t their speciality. Ordered Sesame Chicken … Chicken didn’t seem like chicken … tasted more like pork. Some of the chicken nuggets were literally just clumps of breading (image).
Orange Chicken had orange zest on it which I assume was to enhance the flavor … we weren’t fans of it.
The General Tso Shrimp was okay.
The crab rangoon barely had filling inside of it basically paid $7 for 6 fried wonton wraps (image).
They don’t deliver, not the end of the world because 380 is a nightmare.
Website doesn’t offer cash at pick up.
Staff friendly enough and website easy enough to order from.

A convenient location for the Mezzo apartments. This place served up a delicious meal. A little pricey but hopefully good ingredients were used. Very tasty! Ample portions. Double bagging is good idea, especially if your walking. No waiting and didn’t take too long to prepare. Food was fresh and hot. Seafood cooked / seasoned to my liking. I didnt add any sauce. I’ll definitely recommend and try again.

Service could use improvement. Not the best Thai fried rice, but not the worst. Curry was delicious, I just wished they would have filled the container.

Three strikes your out! I try my best to support businesses in the area, but some make it hard! I placed an order for two Generals Tso chicken and what I received was tough, reheated chicken. It’s a disgrace that they had the nerve to serve that with a smile. If you don’t enjoy giving away your hard earned money for reheated food, be my guess. Otherwise, drive past this place……FAST!

A new Chinese Restaurant near Little Elm. We were surprised to find it and glad we visited.
The Fortune Star dining room was clean. Ordering was easy, and the counter person was courteous and helpful.
The portions are generous at Fortune Star and the food was very good. Both tasty and flavorful. Enough leftovers for a meal the next day.
I highly recommend Fortune Star Chinese Restaurant!

Pad Thai had no spice or flavor seriously just tasted like noodles and oil. Crab Rangoon was not good. Spring rolls were okay and pot stickers were actually good.

I have been a loyal customer at this location as I have expressed. Today was my last visit. I do not intend to have to sit and listen to the BS hiphop/rapp music playing in there. I vote with my wallet….no more money from me. My pics of this place has garnered over 25,000 views. In reading recent reviews, looks like the owners enjoy the success….but are not taking care of customer complaints…..it is very easy to go from excellent to ” bad news ” quickly. Great place to “re-open” a great Chinese restaurant.
Finally a Chinese restaurant that does not hide the flavor of the food with salt and MSG. Wanton soup has light colored broth, again no heavy salt. Very clean. Will definitely come back. I ordered snow pea beef with carrots and watercress. Large portions…too much to eat at one sitting.

I stopped in randomly because I was craving some beef peppered steak. I saw it out the corner of my eye and thought, why not. The food was great! Got the lunch portion, which came with a side, got an egg roll. The cost for the whole meal was really good too. For a lunch portion, I could have split it with one other person. For a random stop, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s on my favorites list now. The restaurant was very clean and the service was fast. Friendly staff, too.
