It’s inside a plaza that was pretty empty, nothing else was really open, but once you walk into Fortune Seafood, the space is actually huge. High ceilings, lots of room, seating on both sides, and everything looked clean. There’s also a Chinese BBQ section right at the entrance, and that’s when we knew we picked the right place.
We got there at the perfect time and didn’t have to wait at all. The menu is massive and honestly really impressive, especially since we don’t have many places like this back in Arizona, so sad. The dim sum menu is split into sections A through E, from the basic stuff to the more fancy dishes. Prices go up as you move through the sections, but it’s still pretty reasonable. Obviously, we ordered a little bit from every section.
The server was really nice, the food came out super fast, and everything tasted great. Good quality, hot, fresh, and just how dim sum should be.
I’m really glad we found this place and tried it. Definitely coming back to try their dinner menu next time.
I’ve been getting takeout from Fortune for a couple of years now, mostly for their roast duck and BBQ pork (char siu) — still some of the best you can get in Las Vegas in terms of quality and value. Nothing on the Strip touches their BBQ for the price, so that alone has kept me coming back.
Recently, I decided to dine in again and explore more of the menu, including dim sum and a few specials.
Dim Sum
The dim sum brought me right back to my Hong Kong days. Overall, I’d rate it around 8/10, with standouts including:
– Chicken feet in black bean sauce
– BBQ pork pastries
– Shrimp har gow
Some vegetable dishes were a bit under-seasoned, but the rest of the items made up for it quickly.
Must-Try Dish: Beef Marrow & Truffle Fried Rice
This dish deserves its own category. Rich, aromatic, and unlike anything I’ve had outside of Asia — absolutely worth ordering.
New Favorites from My Latest Visit
I came back recently and tried a few new things:
Spicy Fried Crab Special — delicious and full of flavor. Just note that it’s served over chilies and fried peanuts, so avoid if you have nut allergies.
Crispy Fried Noodles (Hong Kong Style) — a big hit with my family. We ordered two plates. Solid 8/10, and while the Wynn’s Red 8 version is a 10/10, it also costs almost twice as much.
Dog-Friendly Bonus
They allowed me to bring my small lap dog inside the restaurant — huge convenience points.
Fortune is a reliable 4-star spot whether you’re dining in or taking out, with certain dishes (like the BBQ and the beef marrow fried rice) that earn a full 5 stars on their own. Great value, consistent quality, and a few “hidden gem” dishes that keep me coming back.
Highly recommend giving it a try — and don’t skip the roast duck.
We went in expecting it to be good from the reviews we read but we were blown away. We ordered over 15 different dim’s and every single one didn’t disappoint. All items are made to order, by hand, by one chef and beautifully presented piping hot to your table.
Every item had its own unique flavors and packed with generous amounts of meat, fish, vegetables etc… Their hot chili oil packs a punch and is tops! We wanted to try their famous lobster noodles as they are hand pulled in house but were so full. Saved in the books for next time. However, we did order the walnut shrimp as a carryout and that was really good too.
Favorites are hard to pick and list because everything was delicious but here are a few must order: shrimp shumai, chicken bun, shrimp rice noodle, beef rice noodle, fried shrimp ball and pan fried chicken dumpling.
** Keep in mind if you go, they only do dim sum until 3pm. So keep track of time as we didn’t and missed out on the desert red bean sesame balls.
I also had the dimsum for $3.99 special. It has chopped pork belly and veggies.
Pork congee was $4.58.
House Special Beef Brisket noodle and there is another one called Beef Brisket Noodles. The house special one was quite bland. Few slices of beef and that was it. Maybe the Beef Brisket noodles will be better choice to try next time.
House Special Pan Fried Noodles – that one has beef, prawn , chicken on top of crispy noodles. That was a good one to get!
This place is awesome!
We ordered lobster noodles, hometown fried rice vermicelli, signature fried rice, crispy skin roast duck (whole), shrimp har gow, shrimp shumai, garlic choy sum, walnut shrimp, sugarcane shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, mongolian beef, and baked sweet cream buns.
I wouldn’t say it was the best I’ve had, but everything was good overall. The duck had good flavor, though it wasn’t very crispy. The sugarcane shrimp, shrimp shumai, fried rice, mongolian beef were all good. The sweet and sour chicken and walnut shrimp were a little too sweet for me but still enjoyable. I loved their baked sweet cream bun. It didn’t have a custard filling like I was expecting but it was still great, especially after I popped the leftover bun in the microwave for a few seconds. I’m actually thinking of going back just to order a few to go.
After dinner, the kids played on the claw machine just outside the restaurant (still inside the building), which was a fun way to hang out and chill after eating. Overall, we had a great experience here.
– It has so much options from Dim Sum in the morning to lunch time all the way to a nice and mellow lunch and dinner with their seafood and Chinese BBQ
– It has affordable prices especially with the portions they give you and even better, you’ll most definitely have leftovers for the next day that you’ll enjoy having because it’ll taste just as good!
– Service by the waiters are superior to most places like SK or New Asian BBQ, and the food comes out at such great speeds! (Even with how fast food comes out of the kitchen, it doesn’t mean it’s flavorless or they don’t care, it’s what keeps me and my family coming back!)
– It doesn’t get more authentic than this if you’re looking for Chinese food, it’s your “order and share with the family at the table” type of place and not your typical food chains like Panda
It may be hard to find, but it’s right inside the same lobby as Soup-erb Hotpot and Sweet Talk (a nice close-by dessert place right after a hearty meal)
Come give them a try and you’ll probably keep coming back after tasting their food!
Good food and they changed our plate one time during dinner.
The location of the restaurant is a bit weird though, located in a lobby like plaza. It was easy to find though.
The lobster noodle and oyster dishes are of special price right now.
On the outside, the restaurant is called “Fortune” but it seems to be an old “Noodle Man” restaurant, or maybe it is a partnership with the “Noodle Man” because the artwork inside and the exit door showed “The Noodle Man”. Yet, the receipt said “Chubby Boy BBQ”, so either they are all partners in this joint or it has multiple personalities or maybe they just haven’t completely changed to one name. Either way, as long as the food is good, whatever they call it is fine with me. 🙂
So the inside has 2 dining areas and the center of the place is a BBQ place where you can see roast ducks and Xa Xiu Pork hanging there like any China Town BBQ joint would have. Maybe this is their “Chubby Boy BBQ”? They also have Soy Sauce chicken, Pork Belly, etc. and you can get half or whole chicken. The Pork Belly (Xa Xiu pork) is per pound.
When you are seated, they will give you a menu as well as the Dim Sum menu, where you can visually see the items and you can check mark or put down how many you want per item. The Dim Sum items are per category of A, B, C, D and the pricing will apply to those areas. eg. items in the A category is $, B is $$, C is $$$ and so on.
Once ordered, they will print out the items you ordered and give you that list. As they bring out the ordered items, they will cross that off the list. This system is quite neat because there is no misunderstanding of what was ordered, what has been brought out and what is still “outstanding” till they bring them to your table. It’s very efficient and transparent, which I really appreciated.
The Food: You can see the quality of the food here which is pleasantly and thankfully very good! We were very pleased that everything looked really fresh and very tasty. Definitely a step above other dim sum places we have had.
The staff is very friendly, very quick to respond to you. They were jammed packed for a Sunday lunch time and the staff was running around like crazy. Despite how busy and chaotic things were, they seemed to have managed very well and were quick to respond to tables calling/waving them down. They were very friendly and courteous, unlike most Chinese restaurants where cracking a smile or a friendly look would have been uncalled for.
The dining areas are very clean, though, and the decor is nice, not overly done. Overall, a very nice, clean look. The majority of the patrons are Chinese, so that is very telling cuz Chinese patrons are some of the hardest patrons when it comes to services and food quality. lol
The bathroom could use some attention but maybe because of the lunch rush, it wasn’t as kept up.
Definitely a step above other Dim Sum places. Other places are like a Walmart of Dim Sum, this places is like a department store Dim Sum, like Kohl’s or Macy’s. Glad we found this place and will come back for sure.
