The food was alright. The rice is “pre cooked” and you can’t make any alterations to it when calling in to place an order which is crazy.

The orange chicken isn’t bad but they drowned the chicken in sauce and at the bottom it’s nothing but sweet syrup.

The egg roll or spring roll, whichever comes with the lunch special, is tiny and is mostly breading with almost nothing inside of it.

The salad that comes with it is a basic salad nothing special. But the edges were a little brown.

Also the rice was pre cooked, not cook to order and was a little overcooked and mushy.

I ate the egg roll / spring roll before taking a picture.

The staff was friendly.

Asked the Hostess to recommend me her favorite healthy soup they offered and she recommended, “The Egg Flower Soup.” This recommendation did not disappoint, Delicious! Good food with excellent service is like icing on the cake. Thank you, Fortune Cookies Chinese Bistro!

Great Chinese restaurant if you are looking for lunch specials. The price is reasonable with a great amount of food. If you order their lunch specials, you’ll get a soup, salad & eggroll, rice, and your choice of an entree. Enjoy!

The Orange Chicken and Filet Minion were some of the best meats I’ve had in a while. Especially the filet minion which is chopped up. Incredibly tender and the glaze or sauce they put in it was WONDERFUL. The Orange peel around the meal was actually a lot better than I expected. The Orange Chicken was very good too. I was disappointed with the Low Mien. I’ve had better at a cheaper price, but it doesn’t take away from the rest of the food at all. The service was great and They were very attentive to us. I will definitely come back again.

Great experience here, the crispy orange chicken was delicious, the soup, salad and egg roll was good too. The only issue I had was getting a drink refill, I asked for a refill and didn’t receive one, I had to forgo finishing my meal because I didn’t have a drink.

I was just chilling in this parking lot for a little bit deciding what to eat and then I saw this and browsed online and then I felt like the price seemed fair and I thought maybe the portions would be small. But surprisingly it was a really good weight and it also came with a Lil salad for under 12 bucks as is June 2025. I just got lo mein chicken and it’s flavorful.

We found our new Chinese restaurant to go too. I ordered a couple of trays of their popular entrées for my husband’s birthday party and this place did not disappoint. The food is so good and my favorite was the honey walnut shrimp. Can’t wait to dine at the restaurant.

I’ve known Fortune Cookies since it opened in Los Alamitos a couple of decades ago. It’s now in Seal Beach, just a few blocks down from the original location. I’ve always liked their philosophy of being a “healthy” Chinese restaurant. Some people say that, because of that, the food is a bit on the bland side. Well, maybe they aren’t overly aggressive flavors, but I actually do like them. And I think that their Mandarin Chicken with Eggplant is absolutely delicious! Anyhow, in these times of crazy prices, FC still gives you a lunch special for 10 bucks that includes a spring roll with salad, your choice of rice, your choice of soup, and one entree. Hard to beat that!

Dec 29, 2025 late morning shopping center suffered a power outage. Around 1:35pm power was restored to the Fortune Cookie. We entered and found just one table ocuppied, word got out fast, they were open for business, by the time we left the place was 90 % full. Food was good, service was good..just like nothing had happened..all back to normal.

We went to go dine here, and the service was as horrible. Our waitress gave us such disrespect and attitude. They also overcharged us for a service fee. (it’s groups of 6+, we were a group of 5.) Food was alright, but not worth it here, go somewhere else if you want literally anything better.
