Ordered the Burrata Caprese, the Basic pizza and the Pepperoni pizza. We really liked the burrata. Nice taste and the bread was very good. Both pizzas were great. For me personally, I wish the sause was a little sweeter, everyone likes it savory. The pies were perfectly baked, nice char and a little chewy. The restaurant was very clean and had a great vibe. The staff was amazing. Our waitress Amanda was great. She was very friendly and attentive. In fact anyone who came by the table was very friendly. This is a definitely a place I will be coming back to. The only hiccup is the parking. Very limited parking. We parked about a block away, the other people in our group parked further out.

Been here once on a Friday where some friends waited a while for our seats. They don’t mind. They enjoy a good beer. I wanted to try it on Thursday night at 8ish. The place is still hopping but seating is much easier and with the weather being nicer you sit outside if you want.
Tried the spaghetti bolognese- fantastically different. Good stuff. Friends had the meatzilla. Good the next day in the air fryer.
Definitely good place.

Parking is hard to find at lunchtime but once you’re inside the atmosphere is great. I thought the Caesar salad was really good but the original pizza wasn’t my favorite. I like the “apizza” style but the original just didn’t have enough flavor for me. Next time I’ll try a different pizza. The service and the tea were great – and the big booths are my favorite.

It’s worth the wait. Pizzas were flavorful, perfect thin crust, with premium toppings. Our server was excellent. We sat outside when it became a little chilly and he was able to grab the kids hot chocolates quickly along with our food order. Highly recommend and will have to make the trip back! Plus being located in downtown Garland, we enjoyed the kids play area across the street while we waited for our table. Great location!

Just left and had to leave a review. We sat at the bar and every single bartender was so incredibly kind and engaging. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The tiramisu was the unsung hero of the evening. Probably the best I have ever had. Dylan was our bartender and an absolute gem. Cannot wait to go back. Definitely worth the hour plus drive.

This is my new favorite place to get pizza and have drinks. We had the large clam Pizza and large basic cheese pizza. The flavor of the clam pie was delicious. The sauce and the crust were spot on. For appetizers we had the crab and artichoke dip a must try for an appetizer if you enjoy artichokes and crab smothered in cheese. We also had the clam spaghetti I’m normally not a fan of spaghetti style pasta but it was amazing and I would definitely order it again. All in all a fun experience great food, great service, and great atmosphere. Downtown Garland and their restaurants have really come a long way from what it used to be

What a great find! We had the Cesar salad which actually made me like kale for the first time, perfectly crunchy croutons, a hint of lemon and garlic with creamy dressing. We also ordered Margherita pizza which had a crunchy sourdough crust, full of bubbles the way it out to be; hand tossed and cut in a unique “jenga” style. There were tri-color tomatoes that burst with flavor and torn with no bruising fresh basil after being cooked. Someone understands the ingredients here and used them to ace the assignment. They also have an open kitchen you can watch them master the wood fired oven. Service was great , seated with ice water, anticipated needs of more parmesan. We will back to this light airy location with tables that sparkle, booths, high-tops and an inviting outdoor patio. very exciting to see this as a part of the downtown revitalization.

Some folks are born to eat bad pizza,
Oh that flimsy, tasteless, folded greaser,
and when they play hail to that flimsy pizza, they point the finger at you, Lord….. It ain’t me….No it ain’t me, I Eat at Fortunate Son! No it ain’t me, It ain’t me, I ain’t no flimsy pizza eater. I eat at FORTUNATE SON….More, more, more!
I love eating pizza at Fortunate Son. Crunchy, yet chewy, a little chard, spicy marinara, tastiest pepperoni and other top notch fresh ingredients. A perfect pie.
Horseshoe bar, bartenders that shake your hand, learn your name, attentive & welcoming. You won’t sit empty.
Good array of handcrafted cocktails, rotating beers and don’t sleep on the Tiramisu. Sheez. Next level. In house homemade Pastas are great too. Garland you’re a Fortunate Son of a gun to have a next level spot such as this. It lights my life up like the beautiful lighted tree on their patio.
Go eat here, laugh, savor life and repeat.

Came by on a Wednesday evening and was seated at a booth almost immediately! We ordered the meatzilla and potato/pancetta pizza. Hands down one of the best pizzas we’ve have tried in dfw and we’ve tried a lot! Everything is made in house and we can taste it in the ranch and marinara. Meatzilla was 10/10. The potato and pancetta was a bit bland for a white sauce pizza but you could tell the quality of the ingredients shown through. We will def be back to try more!

Was so excited after watching Dave’s one bite review, but couldn’t have been more disappointed. $100 for burnt pizza. I worked in restaurants for 15 years. Who lets this leave the kitchen? Did anyone even look at it before putting it in the box. The taste was good but needed ranch and pizza sauce to choke down. So sad. Our friends had a good experience dining in and were really surprised by what we got. This was our first experience.
