Excellent Italian food. Authentic and clean. Service is excellent and their varieties of amazing dishes makes this place enjoyable for the whole family. Their desserts are fantastic. Canole, tiramisu and panacota are freshly made with tasty ingredients. I highly recommend !

Absolutely wonderful experience. From the staff to the food – loved it all.

I was on the hunt for a solid vodka sauce pasta and I definitely found it. Best I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever. Love the nduja they incorporate for a nice, light kick. Caesar salad was great. Bread service was also very good. The bread was fresh and the tapenade was yummy (olive blend). End the meal with tiramisu which was nice and fluffy.

This was seriously the best pasta I’ve had since going to Italy and I’m still thinking about it.

Can’t wait to keep coming back here and trying my way through the menu because everything sounds solid. They also have a vegan menu that also even called my eyes!

Parking is going to be all street parking. Very limited amount of spots right in front. Will likely have to park in the neighborhood or in the corner lot if you go late when the other businesses are closed.

Fortuna delivers an authentic taste of Italy in a warm, inviting setting that feels both cozy and refined. The menu highlights fresh, traditional Italian dishes with handmade pastas, rich sauces, and standout items like calamari and classic pastas bursting with flavor. Locals praise the generous portions, attentive service, and genuine hospitality that make every visit special. It’s a fantastic choice for date night or a relaxed dinner with friends — just be sure to reserve ahead as it fills up.

We are visiting San Diego from out of town for our anniversary. We went to Italy last year for our honeymoon and had not found any food that compares to authentic Italian until eating here. This food is straight out of Italy. AMAZING. The staff are so friendly and are using their family recipes making the food so authentic. They even import ingredients from Italy. We had an amazing chicken Parmesan, Cacio e Pepe (with chicken), caprese appetizer, and tiramisu (which was on the house for our anniversary). Every single dish was phenomenal. We are already planning a trip back to enjoy this food again!

Waiters are WICKED Italian. Environment is cozy and welcoming. First place in SD that did not make me miss the authenticity of the east coast. My girl got the braciola di manzo. I got the special rags. Both very tasty but I think hers was better. Nothing on the food menu was 40+ which was nice. Place was packed though. Probably seats around 40-50 people.

Fortuna is our new go to spot for Italian food! Customer service was excellent as was the food. We started with the bruschetta and the meatballs but didn’t get pictures, we were too excited to start eating. We also got the bolognese tagliatelle, lasagna, campenelle pistachio e gamberi, and the chicken parmesan. Finished off our dinner with the tiramisu which was delicious!
We will be coming back for sure! Definitely recommend!

Literally, still sitting at our table as I write this review! Out first time here and definitely won’t be our last. Dropping our daughter off for college and so happy to find this new favorite. Food is beautiful as it is delicious. The staff is incredibly attentive and gracious. Walk, don’t run to this special spot!

Dinner here last night. One of the owners was working and we could immediately tell it was going to be a great experience. Good wine picks. Staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We started with the artichoke hearts and the calamari, both delicious and generous. I had the Pappardelle al Ragu Napoletano; highly recommend for the meat lover in your group. Wife had the Pappardelle Montanaro, prepared gluten-free. It was sublime. Too much food, brought half of each entree home. Finished with a Panna Cotta and an extremely good double espresso. An outstanding dining experience and, frankly, an outstanding value.
