An incredible dining experience.
The atmosphere is perfect with being downtown historic Clayon, and the inside boasts a low light, soft music vibe, which is perfect.
Service was fantastic as our server was friendly, on top of all of our questions, and prompt with anything we needed.
Lastly, the food is EXCELLENT. We shared a couple apps and enjoyed some hearty entrées and they were all equally flavorful and delicious.
1000% recommend and will be back.

This little gem in North Georgia is the perfect spot for delicious dinner, attentive service, and super friendly staff. It has the perfect ambience for a romantic night for 2 or an elevated dinner with friends and family. From the moment we walked in we were wished a warm Happy Anniversary by the amazing host and even got a special anniversary treat at the end. Our server Joey was one of the best I have ever had, and that’s not an easy feat. So knowledgeable, friendly, and has mastered the art of “timing” when it comes to how and when to interact with guests. I had the duck schnitzel dish with bread pudding and it was delicious. The tamales appetizer was also well done. Had a delicious cinnamon ice cream to finish the night off. The entire staff works as a team, pre-bussing tables and helping each other out. That is such a lost art and so appreciated to be sitting at a clean table. This is also one of the first places I’ve eaten in a while where you are not rushed through courses. Great vibes, it is evident why this is the bell of Clayton when it comes to food. We hope to return next time we are in the area. Thank You entire Fortify team!

Service was fast. Our waitress explained the menu and specials very well. Ambience is nice. The bar struggled with my old fashioned but it was okay overall. Fried oysters were.. interesting. The Cesar chopped salad was a good appetizer portion and the candied bacon was a nice touch. The shrimp, sausage, and chicken was amazing. My guest had scallops and enjoyed them. Overall it was a nice evening dining out.

We really enjoyed our trip to Fortify. The cocktails were delicious. Service was exceptional. The halibut special was lovely the burger was amazing. Overall great experience.

Fantastic meal, everything was delicious. Nice quiet setting and great service. The pork chop is gigantic. Highly recommend the fortify salad, and the duck fat butter served with the bread was amazing.

A must visit restaurant in a small town Clayton! My friend advised me to make a reservation a few days ahead of our trip. Glad we did that. You might not get in if call on the same day. Love their bread with the 2 kinds of their in-house dips. Gazpacho soup was healthy and delicious. Steak Tartare was a little modern and no egg. Fresh Carolina Mountain trout was seasoned just right with a pint of nuts on top of rice and a side of their farm fresh side. I picked collard greens as a side and it was outstanding. The owner was very friendly and gave a warm welcome to us. Our waiter was awesome.

Stopped here for lunch one day while were staying at a nearby bed and breakfast, and the pizza was really good and had fresh toppings. We ordered a small “The 3.14” pizza and half a dozen of the apple-wood smoked chicken wings, which were good as well.
Also got a scoop of their chocolate homemade ice cream and it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was really good (not sure I’ve ever had any ice cream I didn’t like though)..
There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded good so I would definitely go back if I’m in the area again. Staff was polite and helpful also.

The pizza was delicious and came out fast and hot. Server was wonderful and attentive. We tried the pear cider and that was great. We also had the creamsicle cake and that was very good. Cute place. Will return when we are back in Clayton.
