We didn’t make it to a Chuck wagon dinner but enjoyed the buildings around Fort Hays. The office where Lt Dunbar gets his orders for Ft Hays is so cool to see. Lots of places on the grounds to take pictures (try the coffin). The buffalo shoot coaster is more fun than it looks! That thing books!

Fun fun fun loved music and jokes on stage. Food was very much like being out on wagon train….lol metal 9 in pie pans metal coffee cups just like in old western movies. I’m not complaining I would definitely go again on my next visit to Rapid City South Dakota.

We did the Chuckwagon supper and show. What an awesome way to end our trip! They efficiently serve a large crowd in a friendly manner. Food was delicious; we particularly liked the chunky applesauce. The musicians were top notch – super talented and entertaining. We brought our 10 and 12 year olds and they enjoyed the sing alongs. At $40 per person for dinner and a show, we found the price to be quite reasonable. Thanks for a fun time! ~ Erica and Roy from NJ

We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and how fast the buffet line moves considering the large crowd of people. We especially liked the brisket which was thinly sliced, tender and tasty.
The show was more of a concert with a few jokes thrown in and was very entertaining. Every talented band member expertly played one or more instruments and sang at least once as lead vocal. We loved that they played a variety of genres. Our favorite was 70s country rock. It was a fun way to spend our last evening in South Dakota.

Our family had a great time! We had 3 generations attending together, and everyone enjoyed it. My grandson said the roller coaster was the best part. Make sure you go early so you have plenty of time to get in a few rides before the show. Thanks for the memories.

Stopped for breakfast, yummy Cowboy pancakes. .99 all you can eat with free refills on coffee. Our 2nd time here, and I can’t wait to go back. Four adults and spent just a little over $15 total. Water is free, and there’s a separate charge for juice and sausages. Rustic interior and very clean the staff is wonderful and welcoming, and they even had a man playing the piano. Take time after you eat to walk around the lot and enjoy the old buildings that were part of the Dances With Wolves movie set. Lots of fun photo opportunities for the kids and adults to enjoy. Gift shop also. (We have not had the biscuits and gravy yet, next visit.)
