We are an authentic family owned Italian restaurant that makes food fresh to order. We have homemade pasta’s and raviolis, authentic Italian specials, and authentic traditional dishes. We have two full bars, one in our dining room and another downstairs in our lounge. We also have an outdoor patio for the warm weather. We offer Lunch and Dinner and have to go services for Delivery. Come in as a guest and leave as family

It was our first time there and we may give them one more try. The waitress was very good but it was over a half hour, maybe 45 minutes even, before we got our food. Kids loved their steaks, although one got prime rib instead of a New York Strip. My husband loved his seafood dish (see photo). My spaghetti and meatballs were tasty even though I would have preferred the spaghetti al dente. And lastly, the portions were so big that I had to take a picture (although I took the photos after we had eaten some)! With an appetizer of Calamari, I thought $160 was a reasonable price.

This was our second time to Fornarelli’s. The first time we got take out and it was good. This time we dined in and let me tell you the experience was amazing. There outside dining was perfect, peaceful, and comfortable. The staff was incredible, attentive, and the service was quick! The food was absolutely the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I ordered the caprese and my husband ordered the fried calamari for appetizers. When I tell you we’ve had fried calamari everywhere this has to be in the top two places with the freshness of the calamari. For our entrees my husband had the broccoli rabe and I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was all to die for! We will definitely be going back again soon! Having them in Colchester is a huge asset to our town!

My husband brought me here for our anniversary dinner and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Our waiter Tyler made sure we had a wonderful experience and walked us through the menu and meal options. He made amazing recommendations and made this one of the best anniversary dinners we’ve had. Could not recommend the food, service and atmosphere more. Cant wait to be back!

Been here many times. For the first time ever, I sent my fish back twice. Once thinking it was undercooked and then finally I let our wonderful server know I thought the fish was off. Not her fault. The fish was never comped. I don’t care about the money but they must set themselves apart from chain restaurants by practices that are followed by other ‘fine’ dining restaurants if they are going to make it. Never eat seafood that tastes ‘off’

We really enjoy this place. Most of our experience is in the bar which often has live music and we like to dance. The bartender pours generously and the server is excellent. The menu is extensive and the food looks ands smells delicious. The crowd is also friendly and lots of other dance lovers. We will be back often!

We visited this restaurant today for lunch, and the service was absolutely impeccable. Our waitress was absolutely on point. However, the food was not so good. We had a sausage on a stick that was so dry we could not even eat it. The wedge salad was very large however, the blue cheese dressing was so bad that it was separated, and the salmon that I had with it was a bit dry. I will say that the pasta fagiole and the eggplant rollatini was good. Not sure I could recommend this restaurant at this point however, I am willing to try it again at sometime

Been here a total of four times now, two dishes were really good the other two were mid. Consistency seems to depend on the time of day you come in and if you got dine-in or take out.

It’s such a shame when a place you really like goes downhill. And fast! The food is actually very good. But it is inconsistent (in a significant way). The service has been good in the past but today was slipshod at best. Two orders completely wrong. Told something wasn’t on the menu when it clearly was. (Actually argued with us about it). No bread. No refills offered. Pasta served without a spoon. Made my son feel guilty about asking for a napkin and then chided him when he touched the cloth one. Then didn’t even give a pen for signing the check. I was still going to leave a tip until that happened. If this is the way the place is headed we won’t be coming back. Only giving 2 stars because the food is actually still good and from past good visits. Would give one star otherwise.
