We are an authentic family owned Italian restaurant that makes food fresh to order. We have homemade pasta’s and raviolis, authentic Italian specials, and authentic traditional dishes. We have two full bars, one in our dining room and another downstairs in our lounge. We also have an outdoor patio for the warm weather.
We offer Lunch and Dinner and have to go services for Delivery.

My husband and I just had our first visit here for our anniversary dinner. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful! First off the staff was so very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was lively. Ask for Amber as a waitress, she was just amazing!

Excellent, fresh food every time we go, huge portions, nice selection of changing seasonal specials. I like the family atmosphere upstairs and more lively lounge downstairs and outdoor dining options. The fried artichokes are to die for! Highly recommend.

On the recommendation of a friend who raved about Fornarellis we drove 35 minutes on a Friday. If I could give the atmosphere a negative star I would. The floor and the table was sticky, decor was dingy. It was loud, which was surprising because there was only one other table in the dining area, but there is a bar that is separated by lattice and the noise carried.
The service was decent, the waiter was the only one with any personality.
The food…started with polenta fries and they were ok the sauce was the best thing on the plate. The Modesto salad which I was really hoping was a true mimic of the original Modestos in Yantic…it reminded me of it but missed the mark. My husband had chicken Marsala and the sauce was off. I had the lemon chicken and scallop potatoes as you can see in the picture my scallop potatoes were soaked with lemon water making them inedible. Wasn’t worth the drive or the $98 dollar bill.

Found this place coming from Hebron Light Show. The driveway was very icy and almost slipped twice but made it inside. Sat by the door, right away but wasnt given menus. After a bit we asked for some and the items on the menu and specials sounded delish. They gave us bread which was a bit overdone but honestly was very tasty. I ordered Lemon Chicken and my fiance ordered Pappardelle Bolognese. I had a few tweaks because of allergies and it wasnt a problem . The one thing I did notice was the host was not just doing her job but she was helping her waiters .She sat the people, she took away dishes and took the bill. I was very impressed and told her so. The food was very delicious and I ordered a salad instead of my vegetable. Salad was very fresh, a little to much dressing for my liking but very delicious. There honestly wasnt anything negative about this night. This place is a redo place. Place was handicap accessible. Very enjoyable

First time here. Excellent service, cozy and warm inside. Felt welcomed from the time stepped in.
Calamari – good.
Martini with blue cheese olives – fantastic.
Baked haddock – very good.
Blackened seafood risotto – amazing.
It was busy on Saturday night, did not rushed at all.
Wish we could have had dessert, too full… next time.
Generous portions.
Looks like they have bands on Saturday.

It was our first time there and we may give them one more try. The waitress was very good but it was over a half hour, maybe 45 minutes even, before we got our food. Kids loved their steaks, although one got prime rib instead of a New York Strip. My husband loved his seafood dish (see photo). My spaghetti and meatballs were tasty even though I would have preferred the spaghetti al dente. And lastly, the portions were so big that I had to take a picture (although I took the photos after we had eaten some)! With an appetizer of Calamari, I thought $160 was a reasonable price.

What a wonderful meal! Reminding me of eating at Italian friends houses when I was a child. Deliciously flavorful dishes! The waitress (Amber) was sensitive to my gluten free allergy as well. Definitely worth the drive from Waterford! And listened to a great band down below

I had the broiled seafood special. It was well plated, I liked the used of scalloped potatoes as a side and the service is excellent. However the food was okay. It was good but doesn’t say to me OMG I gotta come back here again next week. I took a star off for atmosphere because the door really slams when it closes. It’s loud enough to be jarring.

This was our second time to Fornarelli’s. The first time we got take out and it was good. This time we dined in and let me tell you the experience was amazing. There outside dining was perfect, peaceful, and comfortable. The staff was incredible, attentive, and the service was quick! The food was absolutely the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I ordered the caprese and my husband ordered the fried calamari for appetizers. When I tell you we’ve had fried calamari everywhere this has to be in the top two places with the freshness of the calamari. For our entrees my husband had the broccoli rabe and I had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was all to die for! We will definitely be going back again soon! Having them in Colchester is a huge asset to our town!
