This is a favorite for a celebratory dinner! It’s on the pricey end, but you truly get what you pay for. For special date nights, I cannot recommend this place enough.
The handcrafted cocktails are exceptional and I am always pleased! The menu changes seasonally so everything is fresh and exciting. We almost always get the short rib poutine (which seems to be a menu staple). Every entree I’ve had here— from the scallops, to the short rib, to the filet— has been incredible and cooked just to my liking. The raw bar looks incredible too if that is your thing. It is pretty loud, but I’ve always been able to hold a conversation comfortably! The only thing we’ve never been super impressed by is the dessert options, but we’re always too full to care anyway.
I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation. I’ve never been able to get a table without a reservation, however, you may have luck if you’re willing to sit at the bar.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable— I’ve never had a bad experience.
10/10 recommend this spot for your next celebratory dinner.

This is a fancy restaurant that’s been on my list ever since. It was our anniversary recently, so we booked it. We loved the atmosphere and the service. Unfortunately, with my husband’s prime steak, we ordered medium but it came to us medium rare. The meat has a lot of gristle, and was a low quality cut of meat. They made it right with service. But for a high quality restaurant and the most expensive dish on the menu, my husband can’t eat the ‘prime’ steak. Other than the steak, we enjoyed all the things we ordered from the cocktails, clam chowder, all the way to the dessert. Good restaurant for special occasions and dates. We would come back again.

Had an amazing date night dinner. Sat at the bar for apps and cocktails and then moved to the dining room for dinner. Food, service , drinks were all great. The hill behind the bar is naturally beautiful

Very rustic looking and nice restaurant. Appetizers were off the chart good! My Manhattan was perfect, the wine with dinner was perfect. However our steaks were overcooked for the price. Asked for med-rare, but both steaks were cooked to med or slightly beyond. For the $62 price, I expected perfection. But still tasty and we had plenty of leftovers. The desserts were very creative and so good! Bottom line, even though I’m still sizzling about the steak, I would go back in an instant.

We went for a birthday celebration! Food was delicious and so were the drinks! Ambience is great in the main hall but ok in the covered patio. Next time I would like to find seating in their main restaurant. Their steak is really good, salads are delicious paired with the lavender cocktails.

If ever in Groton, MA, you must visit Forge and Vine! My husband and I went to dinner there tonight and enjoyed an exceptional meal. We started with a seasonal apple cider cocktail which was perfect on a cold December evening. It had a perfect amount of spice with the homemade clove simple, pumpkin foam and nutmeg. . . not overly sweet seasonal cocktails that we’ve had at many other restaurants. The mushroom toast appetizer and calamari with squid ink sauce appetizer were wonderful! We ordered the scallops and the monkfish for our main dishes which were also in a class above. The presentation of all food and drinks was exceptional as well. Chef Chantelle (we met her after our dinner) certainly knows what she’s doing and clearly enjoys cooking exceptional meals for people to enjoy. The warm and inviting ambiance, the unique flair and presentation of the scrumptious dishes and drinks are what one would expect in a cosmopolitan city restaurant rather than in a small New England town in Massachusetts. Such a treat! This is definitely a restaurant that you can’t miss!!

Food and service is good. We used the OpenTable wait list. When we got the the restaurant the host said “the online waitlist basically means nothing. We’ll put you on a list for bar seating. You won’t be able to sit in the actual restaurant. “ ok cool. Why do you have a waitlist then?

Forge & Vine is a truly special place. The first time we ate here was in the summer, so we sat on the back patio and had the most beautiful view and incredible meal. They change their menu up quite often and it is always full of new, delectable things to try (shout out to the jalapeño skillet corn bread they used to have that was so good I would honestly commit a crime for it, as well as the new shishito-artichoke dip that I swear is in my dreams sometimes). They also offer several amazing mocktails/non-alcoholic drinks, which I appreciate. They’re a bit on the pricier end — but expected for the area and to be honest a great value for what you get — so this isn’t a weekly stop for us, but we have celebrated so many life moments here. The service is top notch, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and we love being able to watch our food being plated at the semi-open kitchen. A must-have if you’re in the area!

What an experience! We came a little early for our reservation and we’re seated at a large family style table overlooking the kitchen, bar and dining area. We were offered a drink menu to get us started while we waited. I can’t remember the name but it was a delicious empress gin drink for 2 that emited spring/summer vibes, I imagined myself watching sunset in one of their Adirondack chairs. Our interim server quickly closed us out once our table was available and we enjoyed our appetizers and entrees which I’m still drooling over days later. With dinner we both tried the fire and spice cocktail which was sweet, spicy and delicious. Bananas foster for desert wrapped up an amazing night. Our server Holly was amazing and very communicative with our wait times as they were busy. Already can’t wait to go back during warmer weather so we can done outdoors and enjoy the view.
