Big Lou’s Food Review
Stopped by Ford’s Garage in Orlando and this place definitely lives up to its reputation when it comes to atmosphere. The attention to detail is incredible. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by Ford history and automotive décor. They’ve got toolboxes used as cashier stations, Model A Fords parked outside, and even an old-school gas pump with a beautiful waterfall feature at the entrance. Car parts are incorporated throughout the restaurant—even into the tables—which gives the whole place a really cool garage-style vibe.
I ordered the Ford Signature Burger with fries. The burger itself was decent, but honestly a little underwhelming for the name. It had good flavor, but the patty came out pretty dry, and for something called the “Ford Signature,” I expected a bit more of a wow factor. That said, the fries were solid—crispy on the outside with a soft inside, exactly how you want them.
Where this place really shines is the service and overall experience. Our server was fantastic and the entire staff was incredibly polite and welcoming. Even though it was packed on a Sunday night, there was hardly any wait. The kitchen had the burger out in under 10 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy it was.
The outdoor seating area is immaculate, and it’s definitely somewhere I’d want to come back and hang out. Even though I might try a different burger next time, the atmosphere, service, and overall vibe make this place worth visiting again.

Our waiter, TJ, was EXCEPTIONAL. When it comes to eating out, you never know what kind of experience you will have. TJ exceeded all expectations and then some. TJ was friendly (always smiling), professional, and knew the menu inside out. His recommendations were so detailed and thorough and he didn’t skip a beat! He was stopping by regularly to see if we needed anything (more napkins, condiments, more water, etc) and I felt like he treated us like we were at a fine dining steakhouse (like Morton’s, Gibson’s, or Ruth Chris). TJ is a HUGE ASSET to this restaurant. I am a recruiter and would hire him for any customer service position. I hope management knows what kind of quality employee they have with TJ. We would definitely come back to Ford’s Garage, but only if TJ is working.

We enjoyed a nice lunch in the sun on the patio out front. Nikki provided great service and advice.
The beer flight was a great way to taste their expansive selection! My burger was medium and the fries crispy. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the onion ring tower with chipotle ketchup and ranch sauce was fantastic. Too much food and I’ll have a snack later!

We had a great time at Ford’s garage. Our server, Jason, was phenomenal. We went during a very busy time and he stayed on top of our service. We loved the burgers, milkshakes, onion rings and dessert. The Ford branding on the bun was an extra touch. The atmosphere is very laid back and it’s the type of restaurant you could hang out with family and friends for hours. They had football games going on. It’s not a quiet atmosphere but quiet enough for conversations. Parking is located in a large parking lot in the back. It’s in walking distance.

Our second Fords experience in two days and this did not disappoint. Different place and different orders but still amazing. Loved our server Emma and the food was fantastic. Cobb salad was delicious. Truly wish this was in Australia, we should work out a franchise deal I think!

Great food, seated quickly due to call ahead wait list. The atmosphere was fun and carried through the restaurant from outside to the restrooms. Service was quick, and tip is included in the bill.

Tamika was our horrible server. We waited over 17 minutes for refills on what was supposed to be sweet tea. We were given unsweetened tea. Our cheese was clumpy and congealed. (Photo attached) I ordered the model A and I asked for it to have the egg whites fully cooked and the yolk runny. Two members of my party asked for their burgers to be cooked medium. Food comes out burgers aren’t cooked to medium. The egg on the burger was completely cooked no runny yolk. I sent it back asking for the egg to be cooked properly. The manager comes out and tries to hand me an egg with whites falling off onto the plate. Sent the whole burger back and he asked if he could buy me a dessert. I said no. I watched my party pick at their food. The only person who tried to help was a wonderful woman whose name I believe was Colin. I have eaten at fords garage in Hamlin and had wonderful experiences. I will never come back this location. Who gets an automatic 18% service fee and wants a tip on top of that charge.

It is definitely different with the 20% service charge and servers being commissioned based. But the service was good and the food was excellent. They also have a nice selection of craft beer with many local choices. When it comes to service, I’m not sure what to make of it. However, we were well taken care of, and really that is all that matters. Plus, even though the servers are commissioned based, I never felt like we were being upsold or encouraged to order more.

The ambiance and decor is nice. Of course it is garage themed. Nice outdoor covered seating. The entrance to the hostess check in has no room for your party to fully enter. We had a party of 3 and the 3rd person could barely clear the door while I (the first person) was taking to the hostess. The hostess was welcoming and explained their service model…there is an automatic 20% service fee, but TIPS are voluntary as several people (the team) assist. As long as you know that going in it is fine, but it doesn’t really give you the opportunity to adjust down if you have major issues.
Service was very good. The food was decent but needs improvement. The crispy chicken sandwich was very good, hot and large with kettle chips that were good. The salad had chicken that appeared to be pre-cooked bagged style as it was chewy and not tender. The mac & cheese tasted good but was not quite warm. It was just barely warm enough to be melty. Not sure if it is pre-cooked also because if it was cooked to order then it would have been super hot. We would go back if others wanted to frequent the establishment (hoping for better cooking choices) but wouldn’t necessarily seek it out.
Buy the way it was about 11:30 am so not busy and not end of day to have food that was nearly cold.

When arriving, they alert you that they automatically charge 20% to your total ticket. You can choose to tip on top of that if you’d like. Drinks & food were decent, although one order was not accurate. They offered to fix it, but never came back with the correct side. If you’re thinking about the Honey Chipotle Chicken Bowl, beware the spice is very hot! The ribs almost fell off the bone! They were delicious.
