We went here for lunch because of another 5 star review. Outside the place looks like any other building around the nearby marina. Inside the place looks clean, modern and comfortable. They are becoming known for their bread bowl “bombs”. The lobster bomb did NOT disappoint. There is a half pound of fresh lobster with rich lobster bisque in a wonderful crusty bread bowl and served with perfectly cooked house made french fries. We also had the calamari appetizer which was excellent. They make all of their deserts in house now and they have nailed it. The house made bread pudding was absolutely perfect. We sat in the bar area and the bartender served us. He was great and we NEVER waited for a drink refil. Fords Black & Blue has my highest recommendation and I cant wait to go back.

I wanted to share my past experience with Ford’s lobster by the sea in Noank…it was alittle wait time as it was extremely busy even with reservations…however, when we got seated right on the water facing the water it was so beautiful! Our waitress was fantastic and attentive!
My dad and I both enjoyed a amazing lobster sandwich with chips and a bowl of clam chowder it was outstanding! So flavorful…it was a perfect day !

We ended up at Ford’s after a random “let’s go see the shoreline” kind of day with the kids a few months ago, and now I’m mad we haven’t been coming here forever.

Yes, the wait was long. Like switch off who is chasing which child long. But the buzzer system worked, nobody melted down (miracle), and the views kept us distracted. Salt air, boats rolling by, kids climbing every rock they’re probably not supposed to stand on- that was the whole vibe.

Once we finally sat down, the food sealed the deal. Easily some of the best seafood we’ve had. Super fresh, zero frills, just the good stuff. Clean tables, fast service once you’re seated, and a laid-back atmosphere that doesn’t make you apologize every two minutes because you brought children.

Bonus: the kids were obsessed with peeking at the lobsters before we ordered. Nothing like making eye contact with your dinner to work up an appetite

Long wait? Yep. Worth it? Absolutely.
Ford’s will probably be our new summer spot.

So So So Good. On a trip to show my son my old stomping grounds! We visited Mystic Aquarium and my wife and I decided to NOT EAT in Tourist Trap Mystic. So she did some research and found Ford’s. On a funny side note, after we ate and I posted photos on Facebook about going to this little hole in the wall we “Found”, most of my Friends have been here and many come often. All asking if we got the “Lobster Bomb”, which I would of if I knew earlier… Instead we received AWESOME, Friendly Service from the lovely and happy lady working the Bar area for Lunch on Thur 4/18/25. Our son got a Grilled Cheese and Fries that he LOVED. Mom and Dad split the Delicious Shrimp and Garlic Sauce for a lunchtime App then shared the Fish and Chips and the Regular Lobster Roll.. Added in a Pear Martini that was OUTSTANDING.

The Lobster Roll is the Best one I’ve ever had. Hands Down. So Fresh. Perfect Bread. Perfect Butter. I’ve eaten my way through the From Galilee Rhode Island up through the Cape and Boston and have had more LobsterRolls then i can ever mention. This one Stands Out as the BEST one. If anyone asks me where I think the Best “Connecticut Style (Warm Butter)” Roll is this is it 100%!

The Fish and Chips – Not the Standard fair Thick and Gloppy Beer Batter. Instead these where Lightly Fried and Battered to Perfection. My only complaint was I would of liked a bigger portion because the fish was SO DAMN GOOD. On future Visits I will APP a Lobster Roll and get the Fish & Chips.

On another Note, the Fries!!! YUM!!! So Damn Good. Skin on and Fresh. NOT GREASY. Just like the Fish and Chips were not Greasy!

10 Out of 10 on Service, Friendliness and Food Quality & Taste!!! My Friends are All Smart People and know their food!!

Probably the best fish and chips we’ve ever eaten. Fresh and fried just right. We tried the bacon, apple, arugula and triple cream Brie on brioche bread special…also amazing! Service was excellent, and our food came out very quickly. We will definitely be back!

Amazing service and food!!! We’re so glad that Fords’ trademark dishes like the hot lobster Roll and bisque bomb are still available. Their lobster portions are generous and not just claw meat. Kelly was spectacular!!! Thank you for a remarkable experience.

Went here for my mother’s birthday, with a reservation. After arriving and not being greeted by anyone and a short wait, my father went to the bar to ask for service. One of the two bartenders snapped at him, citing that they’re a “two-woman show.” I would love to offer a name for this woman, but nether she nor our server offered them. I can only assume (given the reviews here with similar experiences) that this was Kerrie, the owner.

Thankfully our server was very kind and checked in on us. Despite the painfully average and incredibly overpriced food, she was clearly trying to make sure that we had a good experience. We couldn’t help but feel that the person who snapped at us had just given up on trying to make a nice dinner experience for us and passed us on to someone who had the patience for us.

There was an event going on in another area. You’d think that on a Thursday with an open bar, dining area, and event space, that someone would have chosen to staff each area. As a business manager, I understand restrictions and staffing troubles, but I draw the line at poor customer service. Especially from someone who owns the establishment I’m visiting.

Will not be coming back.
