I’ve eaten at various locations of Forage Kitchen but never left a review . Usually I stop in for healthy well balanced bowls they offer and a great option when craving a nutritious lunch or dinner .
This past visit we stopped at the Monona location after placing an online order for pickup / takeout . Parking is always easy at this location as it’s never been hard to find a spot . Staff always helpful and friendly too .
We got a fiesta bowl with chicken (my favorite) and a Thai bowl with tofu . Menu options are very vegetarian forward and also gluten free plethora of options .
While the food always tastes delicious & well prepared , the reason for only 4 out of 5 stars , and I have to comment on this , is the lack of consistency. The fiesta bowl should have a crunchy tortilla strips topping and often is forgotten . Tonight I opted for a double serving (the app allows for extra toppings ) and to my surprise arriving home there were none . I have encountered this at another location in town with the power bowl , where the guacamole is less than a tablespoon almost non existent; where in another part of town it is much greater portions . Consistency is not always there .
I will certainly continue to try their menu whenever I am around town but will hope they get better with maintenance of consistency.

This food just makes you feel good… I have absolutely loved every single meal I’ve had. Great environment and bonus points for an amazing patio out the back door. Also some great people work here! Dshau is my guy and deserves a raise

What wonderfully wholesome and delicious food!! Both my Harvest Hustle Bowl and my partners Cultured Cobb salad were delicious! We and our Planet would prefer they used washable, reusable bowls for eat-ins instead of throwaways.

Forage Kitchen is my go-to place for food in the area (besides the Co-op). If you love clean, tasty food, this is the place. Whatever your preferences- vegan or omnivore, there is something for everyone. I especially liked this location because of the ease of pickup. I usually go to State Street, which is a challenge, and the food here actually tasted fresher. The atmosphere is definitely quieter. I love Forage Kitchen, and this location is now my go-to spot!

Idk how this happened. So grossed out found a bug in my food. It was alive and moving covered in the salad dressing. Ordered my food from Uber eats. Never ordering from here again.

Went in yesterday evening since I got a gift card. First time, staff was very nice, place was clean, and the food was good. I got the Chicken Bacon Cesar Wrap and it was packed. In every bite I got a bit of all the ingredients. Honestly thought they’d skim on the chicken and bacon but it was very filling. It was cold outside but the wrap was a perfectly warm temp and lettuce was crunchy, not soggy. I would recommend the Chicken Bacon Cesar Wrap and whoever made it.

Great blend of flavors and textures. Recommend the Thai bowl with chicken. The small bowl was plenty for one serving. It was my first time trying black rice and I really liked it. I ordered delivery and it was still warm when it arrived.

My kid and I stopped in to grab some food to go. I ordered a stand bowl off the menu, they ordered a standard wrap off the menu. Neither of us changed anything about what we ordered.
With the store mostly empty it took two staff members almost a half hour to assemble one wrap and one bowl.
The one assembling my bowl was likely new, which mitigates this a bit, but anyone with basic reading comprehension should be able to follow the cheat cards posted above the ingredients without triple checking everything.
While that was going on another staff member saw her colleague struggling to read the recipe and assemble my bowl, so started making my kid’s wrap.
Unfortunately, she attempted to do this without interrupting her conversation with her co-worker, which resulted in a number for small errors she needed to correct, including going through at least three tortillas before managing to stop talking long enough to focus on what she was doing long enough to not tear yet another tortilla.
The food was ok, not bad but nothing special, the service staff were distracted enough to have it impact the time it took to make the food. The food was barely worth the price and not at all worth the wait.

I’ve been to several of Forage’s locations and I think this is my favorite. It’s usually poppin’ at lunch time, but they have ample seating. I love the whole aesthetic of the space. Their salads and grain bowls are top notch – my go to is the Thai bowl. I got the Cashew bowl during my most recent visit, and it was good but the Thai bowl is better. The employees at Forage are always nice and they put bowls together pretty quickly. I love that Forage supports local farms and locally sources their ingredients. Forage is a bit pricey but the food is definitely worth it!

One of my favorite places if not my FAVORITE place to eat. Week day staff is so sweet and welcoming, I come almost every day for my lunch break. However I came on the weekend for the first time and the weekend staff isn’t as warm, very quiet and slightly rude. My bowl wasn’t filled all the way and the boy taking my make your own order did not measure the bases or use full scoops. I sometimes get a kids meal, this was less than that for a full meal price. I love forage and will never stop spending all my money but I probably won’t come on the weekends anymore.
Edit- I was also told that the maple balsamic was all gone but saw a half full bottle on the counter used by another employee. I was substituted normal vinaigrette without being asked and it isn’t really my cup of tea but hey we ball.
