The large horchata was excellent and very refreshing. I ordered the Torta Mariachi and really enjoyed the flavors, though it was a bit too salty for my taste. My husband had the Filet Mignon Risotto, which tasted great, but the portion of meat was very small. We also noticed that another Google reviewer posted a photo of the same dish with a much larger portion and better presentation, so we’re not sure if this is shrinkflation or just an inconsistency in plating, but it wasn’t what we were expecting. Overall, great flavors with some room for improvement in portion accuracy and seasoning balance.

First time at this restaurant. It was very quiet at the time of day that I went. the food was very reasonably priced, good portions and very tasty. I would revisit this establishment for sure in the future.

Stopped here on a whim for lunch and was blown away by the best tacos I’ve had in Rochester. If you are looking for food that is not just made, but crafted this is the place to go!

The menu featured burgers, Italian dishes, and Mexican options, all at very reasonable prices. I don’t understand why anyone goes to Taco John’s down the street. This place offers significantly higher-quality food with a wider variety.

I accidentally discovered this place. Im in love with it! The Filet Mignon Risotto is amazing! The seafood rice is one of my favorites as well. I am just really delighted to find this place. I recommend trying it. So delicious!

The risotto was perfectly cooked. Both of us ordered or filet mignon cooked medium. Mine was medium well and my guests was rare. The cut was not filet it was tough and difficult to cut even with a steak knife. Now! It tasted delicious, the seasoning was spot on and again I absolutely loved the risotto. The marsala, however had a heavy flour taste. I would recommend a slurry to thicken the sauce vs using a flour based rue to avoid that heavy taste. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Overall the atmosphere is wonderful. The service was kind and proper. Oh and I cannot forget to mention the provided chips and salsa at the beginning of the experience and that was to die for, I will go back and try some of the Mexican cuisine offered.

Small place, nice variety of menu choices, both Mexican and American. Everything made from scratch. Servers really hustle, aim to please. Prices are reasonable. Parking is a bit confusing –besides 2 labeled spaces, it’s not entirely clear which spots in the lot are available for patrons.

My wife and I had a delicious meal at Food Lab. I had the Pastor Rice, great comfort food, and my wife had the Salsa Verde Carnitas. They were both absolutely delicious. We also ended up getting Oreo Locos tacos. They were two cute tacos with chocolate moose in a chocolate shell (see photo).

After visiting the popular Taco Lab food trailer, we stopped in at the new FoodLab location at 1203 Seventh St. NW., Rochester, MN just across from Zumbro Valley. It’s fun to see how owners Jorge Mosquera and Nino Morales added interior décor to the variety menu. You can select from tables and chairs and bench seating for dining in. A large knife and fork silhouette hangs on the wall – seeming to invite visitors to dive in and eat.
They have lunch large plates, lunch small plates, lunch bowls, a lunch taco lab, and a combo lunch Mariachi. I wasn’t sure what they meant by “Mariachi” as I’m more familiar with associating it with fresh produce: apples, pears, watermelons, cantaloupes, mangoes, cherimoyas, tomatoes, and chayotes served with a crusty bread roll.
The service was pleasant and the food was prepared and delivered to my table in a timely manner.
What drew me in was the rumored word of how good their fresh fish is. I ordered the Pistachio Salmon Dinner for $20. It was topped with a nicely seasoned crust and a smooth lemon cream sauce with a few capers in it. The salmon was laid slightly over the steamed broccolini, which topped a bed of cauliflower puree. The puree tasted just like mashed potatoes and seemed to have a fair amount of fresh butter in it. Drinks are premade mixes so they were unable to custom make one for me with less sugar and less or no alcohol. They offer both a house wine and house red, along with margaritas and mojitos.
Parking is shared with other business entities in the strip mall. I was able to fit in along with a few other vehicles parked parallel along the sidewalk streetside. Food can be preordered through Seamless and delivered by Grubhub and Doordash.
It’s a nice family-style dining option for the Rochester area.

My wife and I loved our visit here for date night. We don’t get out much but the prices seemed very reasonable, especially for the quality and taste of the food!
I was here for the soft opening and the food was awesome then, but I think the presentation and flavor has gotten even better as well as service. They even decided to include AWESOME chips and salsa complementary.
