I had the Bánh Mì Burger at Food With Hoy in Arcata and WOW—what a ridiculously good twist on a smash burger. Absolute flavor bomb. The OG Smash Burger is a total banger too. If you like crispy edges, juicy patties, and big flavor, you’re in the right place.

And let’s be real for a second—if you’ve eaten out literally anywhere lately, you know prices have gone up everywhere. A Double-Double at In‑N‑Out Burger is pushing $11 these days. Getting a handcrafted smash burger made with this level of care and flavor for around $15 is completely fair—and the quality at Food With Hoy is on a whole different level.

Went to try the burger, and usually I don’t leave reviews for burgers. Although the burger was tasty, the portion for a 15 dollar burger was the smallest piece of meat I have had on a burger in humboldt. Not sure who pressed the patties or portioned out the burgers, but it was not worth 15 dollars, it had the amount of meat as a mcdouble and the burger was the size of one too. I’ve worked on the line and in restaurants for years. The burger was good, but the portion felt like a ripp off or trying to take advantage of that, “its a college town”.
