Arrived literally 4 minutes until they opened. I normally still would have waited until like 10 after before going in, but the sign on the door said “Yes, we are open” so I thought maybe the online hours were wrong. My daughter went in and the lady immediately told her to leave, that they weren’t open yet, so she came back out. She no longer got back in the vehicle and we spoke about what happened, that the woman came to the restaurant door and made a waving motion for her to come back.
I understand arriving early and all that. However, when I say it was 4 minutes early, it was literally 4 minutes. But I digress.
There were 2 ladies working. The one at the beginning never broke a smile. She wasn’t out right rude, she just wasn’t friendly or polite. She ignored my son at the window and went to do dishes (the other lady finally waited on him). Definitely not welcoming. The other lady at least smiled a couple of times.
The food was good. Definitely frozen and deep fried, but that’s what was expected. The service was sub par and disappointing. I hadn’t eaten from here for probably 25 years and was excited to bring my kids, and we left feeling like we ruined their day by being a customer.
We may give it one more chance someday. Everyone has a bad day and maybe this was that for that lady. But attitude matters, especially in customer service.

This is a little restaurant out by itself that usually stays very busy because the food is good and the hometown service is excellent. I got the catfish and loaded baked potato and coleslaw. The catfish was delicious and the coleslaw was very tasty. I was a little disappointed in the baked potato because it didn’t have enough cheese and bacon on it for my tastes but I didn’t send it back so I can’t complain too much. The atmosphere is family oriented and they really take care of you here.

We stayed at Breaks Interstate Park, and found this great little restaurant. We had burgers and fries. Large hot burgers with fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The fries were very hot. We had excellent service.

I use to live about 15 min. from the Snack Shack till I moved.. God do I miss their food.. The pizza burgers are Amazing.
But I have never ate anything bad from there.. I have never even ate anything mediocre from there.. It’s always exactly what you want.. It’s Always hot and delicious.. Sometimes I drive 3 hours back home just to get a burger and fries…
Do yourself a favor and try it if you haven’t..
It’s not a huge place, and they are Always busy, so the best thing to do is call in your order.. You won’t be sorry…

Most if not all places south of PA that I’ve been to have lousy pizza.
Just my personal opinion, but snack shack DOES PIZZA RIGHT!!!
I CANNOT express how good this pizza is.
The sauce is fantastic, the crust is perfect, and they really know how to pile in the cheese and other toppings.
Just perfect. All of Elkhorn City should feel blessed

Call ahead to skip long lines this place is always busy, and they cook food fresh. These ladies run this place so well, foods great. Best burgers in area by far!

I would have given this place 5 stars,but after Blue died and her daughter-in-law Dustie Dawn took over the everyday running of this place.Well lets just say,she is about to lose everyone that works there,because being the boss has just went to her head and she is rude to her employees and most customers.
I think Blue’s husband needs to put someone who is more qualified to run the day to day operation of this business.
Good luck to Blue’s husband,a lot of people have told me that ur daughter- in- law is coming in high and staying high.You need to get a handle on this before Dustie runs ur business in the ground.
