The food was so flavorful! You could taste homemade love in every item off the menu. We got the Sunday pot roast for lunch —- Oh so good!!! The meat was tender and the gravy really complemented the rice it was served with. The sweet potatoes had the perfect sweet and savory, and the Mac and cheese had that homemade flavor. My sister got the beans and greens so we could try a little bit of everything. It was so yummy! The little heart shaped cornbread was such a treat. I had to get the banana pudding because I was told it was also homemade. I wish my tummy wasn’t already full from lunch so I ate the rest of my pudding for dinner, it couldn’t wait another day. If you haven’t eaten at Food 4 the Soul, now is time.

Let me tell y’all…. This food is a 10/10 always will recommend . That Sunday plate gave me the itis and I immediately went to sleep!
All jokes aside, this food is great and I love this place we have to keep them in business no matter what. It’s way too good AND affordable to allow anything to happen to this place.

I have been to Food for the Soul multiple times and each time it’s a hit. The turkey wings are falling off the bone. The collards…..the collards are nothing like the usual in a soul food restaurant. I usually only eat my moms because they generally taste like they came right out the can but at Food for the Soul they actually taste like collards are supposed to taste, good!! The mac and cheese, the yams, the cornbread listen!!!!!! If you want soul food and don’t want to cook it yourself this is the next best option and the owner, man she has a heart of gold. She loves what she is doing and it shows! The wait is never long and the atmosphere is welcoming.

I came in for the first time today. Drove all the way from Greensboro and let me tell you! I’d do it again! The honey chicken wings were on point and the fried whiting!!! Nice lady in the back cooking from her soul! I appreciate the natural friendliness she had and can’t wait to come back to Fayetteville probably once a month. Wait time was definitely worth it but not unreasonable because I ordered right when they opened. Mystery Koolaid is good but too sweet lol had to drink some water but all is good. I’ll be back! ❤️

I Googled soul food near me and this place came up. I drove over and placed an order in the restaurant. Food was ready with 10 minutes. I ordered the oxtail with collard greens, mac n cheese and some chicken wings. Everything was phenomenal! Cheers to the chef! You did that!

We were in town for a concert….found this place…its a Very chill spot ..a little small but made me feel relaxed. The owner is very sweet and hardworking lady. I can feel that the food was made with love. While we waited for the food we sat at a table had some sweet tea and mystery punch…the mystery punch was pretty good! …there were free snacks and candy while we waited and a GREAT rnb playlist playing softly in the background. The table also had a deck of cards! What!! Because we def played a quick hand of spades!
Food was slappping! We had 15 whole wings 3 diff flavors..plain(best)…garlic parm(very good)…lemon pepper.(Good) Better with ranch!…
We also had Mac n cheese …it was baked but was creamy! I liked it..the sweet potatoes were very good…sweet but not overly sweet….Cabbage was hittin!!! fried okra was hittin!!!
We also had fried fish sandwich which was very good….we finished up with a fried turkey wing which was also very good. All in all…if you just looking to relax and grab something really good to eat…..go ahead and stop by….

The customer service was great! The food was ok. I ordered 2 hamburger steak plates which is why I gave it a 3 the hamburger steak was dry and the cabbage needed seasoning the Mac & cheese was really good though! My husband also ordered lemon pepper wings which he said were the best he had ever had! We both agreed the black eyed peas tasted like they came out of a can! The chocolate cake tasted old and very dry. The lemon pound cake was amazing. The Mystery punch(Koolaid) was good too!

First of all, the music is bomb, some of these songs take me back to when I was a kid sitting it back of my parents car after church. The vibe is so homely for my black folks that understand‼️ The fried fish is out of this world, no old grease taste, the crunch is exquisite, and its so juicy. The greens are respectable, enough for me to clear them off the plate. The mac and cheese ain’t disappoint either! The chicken was crunchy and HOT. And the cornbread heart? So adorable I just cant not give this place 5* The boss herself Ms. Erica is welcoming and never made me feel overly nervous about ordering food, which I normally am. I really hope others dine here and experience the joy of good food like this always.
