I never leave reviews for food but this chicken Alfredo melt is TO DIE FOR! The Alfredo sauce is delicious, and the bread is the perfect balance of crispy and soft. Arguably the best sandwich I’ve ever had.

As a former Chicago resident looking for a local take on a city staple, was not disappointed. The Italian beef was excellent, the homemade chips were a little overdone, but you can tell they were fresh, so it doesnt really didnt sour the experience. The marinara served with the chips was superb.
Located in the 3rd St Market, along with so many other options, this stall is easy to miss, dont sleep on it though.

My family and I stopped in and ordered the meatballs, Alfredo pasta and garlic bread. The meatballs and Alfredo pasta were very tasty. Garlic bread was good as well but I wouldn’t order again like the other items.

This place was a joke. I stood at the counter forever before someone finally came up. I ordered the pesto chicken sandwich. They texted me to say my order was ready and the guy couldn’t figure out which order was mine, he asked me what I ordered multiple times even though they had no other business. Eventually, he gave me one of the orders. The sandwich felt like it weighed nothing.
I sat down to eat it and opened it up and there was 2 pieces of lettuce, a sprinkle of cheese, and pesto sauce on top, no meat at all. I went back and told him and he said he must have given my order to someone else. He asked me again what I ordered and I told him. He made me another one and this time, the sandwich didn’t have any cheese on it. It was a big sub roll with not exaggerating maybe 2 tablespoons of chewy shredded chicken on it, 2 pieces of lettuce, tomatoes, and some pesto sauce. The sandwich was basically empty and was almost all bread, I couldn’t believe I actually spent money on it. The guy seemed totally lost, didn’t know how to work the register very well, all 3 times I went to the counter, I had to wait a long time for him to come up to me. I don’t know what he was doing because like I said, they had no other business.
It’s a shame that this market hall doesn’t have a good sandwich spot. Mid-Way Bakery used to make amazing sandwiches but they stopped making sandwiches for some reason, such a shame!

I’m genuinely not being hyperbolic when I say that the Chicken Alfredo Melt at this place might actually be my all-time favorite food item I’ve ever eaten. Fonzarelli’s is the hidden gem of the 3rd Street Market Hall.
I just wish I had discovered this place sooner, and that I didn’t live so far away.
The atmosphere is meh just because the market hall in general is often so loud and crowded, but it’s so worth it for Fonzarelli’s.
Oh, also the cannoli is very good!
