Holy smokes, literally! I should have dug deeper into the reviews to see that this is a smoking bar. It has to be one of the last few in the area, sort of like me having a Blackberry in 2012. I saw they were open late, had pool tables, and were equidistant for my bestie and me to meet up. So I am doing y’all a solid and letting you non-smokers like myself know that this IS a smoking bar.So, back to my experience. Brad was my bartender. He introduced himself and probably saw me dying inside, but I stayed since my bestie was on her way, and it was her birthday, and I wanted her opinion on next steps should she want to leave. He bought her first drink, which was really sweet! I didn’t take any pics of anything because we immediately went outside to imbibe on their patio in 50-degree weather. I met some amazing people that night: Derek, Steve, and Jack, who were all regulars and had known each other since they were kids. That sort of friendship is rare and to be cherished, as my bestie and I have known each other since we were 11. I met another lady at the end of the night who worked there too. The vibes alone were dope. Too bad it’s a smoking bar, or else I’d be a regular!

The bartender was super rude, told me to leave even though I just finished my drink and didn’t reorder. Plus, the place was practically empty, and he still kicked me out.

Food is great, drinks are great, staff are great! The interior has a nice pub feeling to it. There are 2 great pool tables to play on, shuffle board, big buck hunter and golden tee as well. They have a pool league that plays regularly (usually Thursdays). Typically has an older crowd, but everyone is welcomed. It’s kind of neat to see a train or 2 pass through while having a drink if you’re lucky. They do allow smoking inside. Never had a bad time at Foley’s

I went to this place after landing in town from after several hours of driving. I connected with a friend of mine that was having a really hard time in life and we were simply seeking somewhere to eat. We got there at about 10:30pm or so.

My experience was one that I’ve never had in any professional establishment ever. The moment I sat down with my friend, the woman who continuesly identified herself as the owner asked my friend (who admittedly looks young) for her ID. My friend recently had her things stolen and only had her ID saved in her phone. Neither of us intended to drink since I have been sober for a period of time.

Each time either me or my associate opened our mouth to try to express to her our situation, she became more irate and rude. Her position was that if whomever came to inspect IDs and she didn’t have hers, That she would be liable as the business owner.

Initially I thought her concern was the fear of serving alcohol to anyone underage and the consequences if so. Once I asked her does she not have access to attorneys (something I help business owners connect to regularly) she began yelling and displaying the worst indignation I had ever seen from a business owner. I am inclined to believe that her behavior towards me was decidedly discriminatory. We weren’t rude, we never raised our voice or used any language that would have warranted being treated as less than human.

All I wanted was food. Which I’d have gladly been accommodating if she had taken half a second to listen to what we were saying as opposed to immediately seeking a reason not to serve us. To feel unwelcomed in my city of birth is one of the most terrible feelings I have ever experienced. Apparently the kitchen was closed. Something we could have resolved immediately if the “owner” would have taken the time hear what we had to say.

Great local spot for inexpensive drinks, with great top shelf options. Also, if you’re hungry, they have pretty classic bar food. But since they don’t have a regular cook, make sure to ask if the full menu is available. Certain items are not as good when they are busy for obvious reasons.

Foley’s is unpretentious. It’s a local bar in every sense of the word. But note: it is a smoker’s bar, without apology. The staff is attentive & polite. The food is bar-quality good, the patrons are friendly.

Great atmosphere and great experience. Not to crowded for a Friday night and perfect for the engagement party I attended. The food was great and the drinks bountiful. Oh…and it’s a last refuge for the persecuted smoker! (ME) Staff was friendly but very busy. Just had a really nice night here. There are outdoor tables if you choose but plenty of space inside so c’mon in! I really reccomend for a night out if you’re looking for a bar to hang at.

Foley’s has great food, amazing selection of both beer and liquor, and shuffle board. Plus it’s indoor smoking. A burger and a beer for under $10 count me in. But seriously, this hole in the wall bar packs a serious punch and has some amazing character. Check it out. The staff and owner are super friendly.
