I was there for a dinner with friends, and the food was absolutely 5-star. Everything was perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented.
I also want to give a special shout-out to our wonderful waitstaff—Kelsy, Sebastian, and Christian—as well as Patrick and Sarah for making sure we were comfortable the entire evening. I truly felt spoiled and well taken care of.
What really stood out was how fun and interactive the whole experience was. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, try new things, and enjoy the energy of the room. It’s perfect for just about any occasion—celebrating with coworkers, a date night, or a family dinner.
The location itself is unique and beautiful. I’ve been to this spot back when it was McCormick & Schmick’s, and Fogo de Chão has transformed it in a way that feels fresh while still honoring the space. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and I can’t wait to come back.
The restaurant is beautifully designed, modern, and upscale, and everything felt brand new and clean. The salad bar was fresh, side orders amazing, thoughtfully maintained, with a great variety. The variety of meats was cooked right and the creme brulee I ordered was yummy. Service was attentive and professional without feeling rushed.
Bathrooms were also clean which is always appreciated. Overall a great addition to Tigard and definitely a spot I’ll return to. Both great restaurants in the area with two different vibes.
Experience here didn’t start off well. We arrived 15 min early for our 2 00 reservation to celebrate my bday. We were told by the hostess we would be seated shortly. At 2 05 we were still waiting. During this time we can see SEVERAL tables empty, set and ready. Also during this time people are arriving and being seated. At 2 15 we ask the same hostess why we haven’t been seated yet. She tells us they’re wkg on clearing tables….we still see empty tables so not sure why they’re wkg on clearing any! At 2 25 I ask the hostess again why we haven’t been seated. She has attitude with me and tells me they are still clearing tables, that they’re very busy and can’t guarantee anything right now. WHAT?!?! I asked her how having a reservation wasn’t a guarantee?!?! She ignored me. That young lady should not be a hostess as she isn’t a good fit to interact with customers. At 2 30 we are finally led to a table….in the bar. At this point I now ask for the Mgr. The gal who was trying to seat us was very apologetic (Shay), which we appreciated. She took me to a young man there in the bar who was supposedly one of the mgrs. I explained i was there for my bday, had 2 00 reservations, was made to wait 30 min past the res time and was expected to sit in the bar area, when throughout this time there are several empty tables in the restaurant. This guy had attitude as well (same training as the hostess?), commenting that I should have told the hostess I didn’t want to sit in the bar. WHAT? I responded that I didn’t know I was going to be seated in the bar instead of the restaurant! Then he said the bar is in the restaurant. I almost walked out at that point! Not that they would have given a damn obviously. Suddenly he became professional and told us he would get us seated in the “restaurant “. We were then taken to one of the empty tables we had been staring at from the time we arrived at 1 45…..a table that was not set up for 4 or 6, but a table set up for 5 which is how many was in our party. Probably our table all along! WTH? Really bad start, but the person taking care of our table, Chance, went out of his way to make things better for us (after we told him of what had gone on our first 45 min). The meats were good for the most part, but the buffet area wasn’t the best (Texas de Brazil’s buffet area has 3x the offerings); at this place offerings are minimal. For the desserts, things didn’t go well. My son had the cheesecake, of which half was still frozen so he couldn’t get his fork thru it. A different mgr (a woman this time) had it brought to her attention by the server, and she came to apologize and took it off the bill. It was good of her to do that, but a disappointing ordeal. I asked for my dessert to go. When I got home and opened the box, the creme brulee didn’t look anything like it should. It looked like a darn pancake! There was maybe a tbsp of custard. We all just stared at it in disbelief! Insane. Good thing the bday dessert was free….I can’t imagine having to pay for what was in that oversized box…..heck my son’s cheesecake slice was 13 50. While Chance, Shay, and the woman mgr went out of their way to make things right, our experience at this location was not a good one. That hostess needs to be better trained, or work in the back where she doesn’t interact with the customers. And that young male mgr needs better training on how not to make sarcastic comments. It will be a long while before we try this location again, if ever. The only reason I’m giving this place 3 stars is because of Chance, Shay and the woman mgr…the meats were pretty good but the crappy way we were made to wait for no reason wasn’t worth the visit.
The redemption came from our Gauchos food service people. Kevin, Gustavo, Gleb. So very sweet and so very accommodating.
Lord knows I sound like a Karen. But I swear I am not nor did I ask to speak to the manager lol. We wanted our check and to leave ASAP. But that was even a challenge. In the end Fogo would not take my money. They said they were sorry and wished us well. This I hope was a teachable moment. We will be back but not for awhile.
With a few improvements, this place could be a 4+ star situation.
POSITIVES
Staff are friendly and seem eager to want to please their guests. Meat was well-seasoned and prepared. Even though I miss the mashed potatoes, the side dishes brought were delicious and hot.
Options at the salad bar are phenomenal and eating just that is a great value for the feast provided. Love the fruit for dessert!
Valet parking available during supper hours.
NEGATIVES
No flow to the direction guests should visit the salad bar. They should have arrows for direction and encourage guests to enter/leave the salad bar at certain places.
The lentil soup was cold and not at appropriate serving temperature for a cold or hot soup.
Parking is a nightmare if the valet isn’t available. I’m not sure why they had parking spots blocked off on a Saturday, but that’s dumb. They also have too many spots available for “to go.”
I got skipped by the people bringing meat several times and did not get to try all the pork dishes.
Our host, Wayne, checked on us regularly, and would update us on the status of our apps and desserts. Every experience was so nice, we were able to joke around with folks. We also had my partner’s birthday dessert comped which was so nice.
