Reviews
The food was spectacular. Every cut of meat that came to the table was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
This is probably some of the best food you can have in the city. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an exceptional meal, I highly recommend Fogo de Chão.
We did the full Churrasco experience and everything was incredible. I especially appreciated that even after I flipped my card to “No Thanks” because I was full, the gauchos still kindly checked in and gave me the option to grab a piece if I changed my mind. My mom still had her card on “Yes Please,” and they handled it perfectly without rushing me or turning me away like some other locations sometimes do. Even when you’re full, you might change your mind and they understood that!
Rogelio was our server and he was amazing. He had great presentation skills, was extremely polite, and checked on us the perfect amount, he was attentive without being overwhelming. It made the experience feel relaxed and special.
Another gentleman, Leandro, truly made our time unforgettable. He asked what brought us to the city, and I shared that I was taking an exam to get my nursing license. He surprised us with a cake, a candle, and the sweetest message written on the plate. That level of kindness and thoughtfulness meant so much to me.
I’ve been to all of the Fogo de Chão locations in New Jersey, and I can confidently say this NYC location is the best out of all of them. Such a unique and memorable experience. Thank you for the incredible service and kindness, I will definitely be back!
Special thanks to the management team, they made me feel at home.
Pablo was an excellent server, I enjoyed my last visit on February 2026
Despite the apparent lack of customers, I assumed the staff was still busy, so I brushed off the issues (we all have a bad night at times.) When I brought my girlfriend back for a second visit, the experience was even worse. The service was even worse than the first time. Our server never checked on us, and our plates were never cleared, just piling up on the table. When we finally ordered dessert, we enjoyed it so much that we wanted another, but we kept waiting for a server to come by or check on us to order it. One female attendant, however, seemed eager to get us out, possibly because she dropped the bill on us. I had told her that we were waiting to order another dessert, but at that moment, if not for my significant other, I would have left.
On the positive side, everything else was delightful and delicious. However, I doubt that we will return to this restaurant.
While I waited over 20 minutes for my chicken sliders, I watched other parties seated at the bar arrive, order, and receive their small bites in under 10 minutes. That contrast was a red flag—the service felt subjective and inconsistent, influenced by factors that had a noticeable impact on my experience.
The space itself felt unwelcoming and flat. I’ve been to many Fogo locations, and this one was easily the most underwhelming. The restaurant stayed empty for the entire hour I was there, confirming that they could have honored my request for a table away from other groups. The chicken sliders were good, but had I known the service would be so poor, I would have chosen Eataly instead.
If you’re looking for an unwelcoming atmosphere, Fogo fits the bill. But if you’re a patron who cares about where your money goes, you’re better off dining elsewhere and leaving this experience to the tourists Fogo seems most focused on attracting.
I just would have loved them to be more attentive as they were slow with the drinks and it was not very busy.
