You know this is one of them side street cafes that I absolutely love to come to folks.
The ones I’ve been telling you about all these years when I first walked in the first thing I smelled was just freshness and when I looked around it was cleanliness.
They’ve got this nice laid-back rastafari music on “One love” in the background and then I ordered the coffee for my sister, a nice Cafe mocha with cinnamon and he hooked it up with a little foam.
I’m just a straight black coffee.
I had their traditional breakfast. Two eggs, two sausages and the smashing is best and I mean best potatoes that could ever go with a breakfast. In the sense that not only did they bake it then they smashed it, then they fried it and then they topped it off with oil and cheese. Then they hit it with flakes and baked it again.
You talk about that, and then they have their own house hot sauce which takes Louisiana to a whole nother level because the vinegar content is just delicious without overpowering it by the hot.
The eggs, Absolutely runny spot on the jam. They serve with their whole weed toast which was perfect. Perfectly cooked absolutely delicious all the way around.
Five stars the service by the young man that served us this morning and the chef that was eager to answer our questions is a place for all of you to come when in town in Tempe, Arizona. It’s just off of 6th Street off of Mill and 6th Street on your way to the stadium and I’ll tell you what just come on in and see him and tell them Old Stewart sent you

Love this place! My bartender, Riley, was great and gave a great recommendation (the jalapeño margarita was top notch). Amazing burger and skewers. Everything was so flavorful and filling.
Great place for a business lunch. If you’re looking for local, fresh and good it doesn’t get better than this. Definitely coming back my next time through Tempe

Good food but really let down by slow service. They may have been short staffed in the kitchen but at least they should communicate that it may take more time than usual. University crown mostly from asu but everyone seemed tired of waiting.

Menu is fairly premium: burgers in the $18-23 range for lunch/dinner items; brunch items $14‐20 roughly.

This was the perfect happy hour spot in Tempe! $5 glasses of wine, yummy appetizers, and a very cute environment. We went on a Saturday after a play at Gammage and happy hour went until 7pm which is typically unheard of on a Saturday! Perfect spot for a quick bite. I can’t wait to go back for lunch and dinner.

We were down here for Innings Fest and stopped by for brunch because this location is close to the event. Staff was friendly and attentive. The kitchen unfortunately lost our ticket but the manager came out and apologized and bought us a round of drinks. The food was very delicious and definitely worth the wait. We would eat here again for sure!

While the food was great here, the service was abysmal. We sat down outside and were told by the host that “he would order asap if he were us since it’ll take forever to come out” so we said that’s fine, not a problem, but we would need the drink menu first. A little unprofessional for a more upscale place such as this, but no biggie. Once we put in our order, true to what he said the food did take a while to come out. When it did come out, a server (who knows who our server was; we didn’t have a dedicated one) almost gave it to another table and we had to correct him across the patio that it was our food. Then we asked that same server if he could bring us utensils, condiments, sugar for our coffee, and waters (which the host said he would bring when he took our order but never did). Everything felt super rushed and flustered. For example, when the host took our order, he left before we were finished talking. Never once were we checked on during our meal, and I felt like I had to walk them through what to bring to us in terms of what we needed to eat our meal. Additionally someone who seemed like the manager kept checking on only one table, and being so loud when he made some crude jokes. I could tell the table was uncomfortable. And I did find it odd they only checked on the one table. Then when we were finished, we waited politely for someone to come give us our bill, but no one did so we finally flagged down another server, and apologized for flagging her down, but explained that apparently we didn’t have a dedicated server. She explained that they were understaffed, which I sympathize with, but then proceeded to talk about how she was called in last minute at 10am to come help with the rush. Mind you, we had overheard her say this to every table she had stopped by already. I found this a little unprofessional to be honest. We ended up tipping 18% on a meal that should have been tipped 10% to be quite frank, and it’s because we’ve both worked in customer service and restaurants. But truly abysmal service.

We’d heard about Foch Cafe & Bistro on a local PBS show, “Check Please” where it received high praise. It’s a charming bistro with a variety of seating options including an open table area, booths, and little enclaves of cozy seating. They have a nicely done bar as well. Many well-tended house plants add to the ambiance. The friendly staff we met, Richard and Tim, were so genuine in their hospitality and welcoming demeanor. Our food was brought out with little wait. The food was Wonderful! The Chicken & Gravy crepe (yum) was delicious and beautifully presented; flavorful jalapeno jam on top of a perfect sunny-side-up egg that crowned the crepe entree. Fantastic. The Foch Grilled Cheese came with caramelized onion (SO good!) with gruyere (I think) and maybe Brie, and a surprise Crunch of crisp parmesan crust on the Outside of the sandwich, a drizzle of truffle oil on artisan sourdough with a side of perfectly seasoned fries. Probably the best grilled cheese ever. We can’t wait to go back! They have a coffee bar with creatively crafted brews done artfully. And elevated desserts like creme Brule. We Totally recommend Foch Cafe and Bistro. Tucked away just north of Mill Ave on 21 E. 6th Street in downtown Tempe.

Compliments to Chef Tim and our waiter Brandon for an excellent brunch experience this morning. We tried the duck wings (good size, tenderness and sauce flavor), French toast, avocado toast, fries, beignets, and desert rose mocktail. We dined on the patio for Sunday brunch, it was comfortable and quiet. Minus half a star because the avocado toast was hard to eat without losing toppings and the fries were more broken pieces than full fries. The menu is robust and I look forward to returning, I would recommend this place to a friend.
