Awesome food, mocktail summer vacation was fire. Braised short ribs was to die for so tender and flavorful with the mash potatoes. Mac n cheese was very good and burger was just awesome. very awesome service will come again when in town.

We did a family dinner at the Flying Pig and everybody loved it!
First off, if you’re going on the weekend, parking is tough but you will find a spot. If you don’t, there is a paid lot across the way.
The location is in a lively part of downtown Oceanside and super friendly and safe.
The restaurant itself is cozy with a cool lodge type feel.
Service was very friendly and quick.
Everybody loved the food which was high end pub style eats. Tons of options and every plate at the table was empty at the end of dinner.
If you’re in Oceanside the Flying Pig is a great choice for dinner.

My husband and I stopped in Oceanside and decided to share the Tri-Tip sandwich … and WOW. We’re still talking about it! The meat was tender, the flavors were insane, and everything was just perfect. Honestly the best sandwich we’ve ever had.
Too bad it’s far from us, because we’d be here every week. A must-try when you’re in Oceanside!

By far, this was our favorite restaurant we visited during our trip to California.
Right out of the gate, Sean and Denis were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their hospitality made our evening both enjoyable and memorable.
We ordered the pork chop, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned—served over creamy grits and finished with a savory olive sauce. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it again. We paired it with the macaroni and cheese, which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, featuring house-made bacon that took it to the next level. It was a filling and satisfying meal.
The bar has an excellent selection, and Sean did a fantastic job recommending wine and beer pairings that complemented our food perfectly.
We finished the night with beignets. While they’re not New Orleans style, they were absolutely delicious—especially the one Denis suggested filling with banana pudding. Sinfully sweet and worth every bite.
This is a must-stop when you’re in Oceanside, and without question, a definite revisit the next time we’re back.

Funky, fun atmosphere. If strange taxidermy animals staring at you from behind the bar while you eat is not your thing, go to Red Robin. If amazing food with a southern comfort food nod (The fried chicken came with collards and mash potatoes) in a sort of off-beat style (your bread plates most likely will not match) is what you desire, you may have found your new favorite eatery. So many good dishes. We always do “family style” so we can all get a taste. The Ceasar salad is sublime.

We went here for happy hour. The burger was mediocre – more bun than patty. The truffle fries were great. Deviled eggs are a pretty purple color, and the bacon grits were fine. It ended up being $50 for 2 without drinks. Staff is prompt.

Wow, wow! We hosted a Rehearsal Dinner and it was FABULOUS! We worked with Michaela on the menu, went a couple of times to try various menu items and came up with our special dishes for the dinner. Michaela was amazing every step of the way, including making our custom printed menu — our server the night of was Joe —and he was awesome! Attentive, friendly, efficient and a great guy! Our group was 22 people and they made us all feel so welcome. Kudos to the chefs for amazing dishes…pork chop, shrimp and grits, fried chicken and spare rib. The appetizers were incredible as well…..and the banana crème stuffed beignets were to die for. We will definitely be back…thank you Michaela, Joe and team for your service and making the Rehearsal Dinner so memorable!

We had a birthday reservation for the 7 of us, and were seated immediately. They wished happy birthday to the guest of honor and took our drink orders and had them back in a flash. The food order went in without a hitch. Everyone agreed: the food was delicious! Great time.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this place but being an Oceanside local I felt like we needed to try it at some point or another and I’m happy we did. The drinks were a little different for my taste but that doesn’t mean they were bad by any means. The food was delicious. Especially the herb mashed potatoes and the mac and cheese. I like the crispiness of the fried chicken but wish it had a little more flavor to the batter. We Had No Reservations on a Saturday evening and were able to get seated right away which was nice. The server was fantastic and checked on a several times and made sure to fill up our Waters as it was definitely a warmer day. There’s a real sense of community at this restaurant and I enjoy that. Overall it was a great experience.
