I made an order online and picked it up, inside was decent, hardly any interaction from the workers. The gumbo smelt burnt, so they definitely burnt the roux, the fries were stale, the hush puppies were poorly made no seasoning and no real outside crunch, the catfish was alright with hot sauce, the Nashville chicken sandwich is only exactly that when you add the sauce on it. These are my reviews and opinions and my older adult children’s as well. I ask if there was plastic ware in the bag they said it was but it was not and they also forgot a drink I had with the kids meal. It definitely was not worth the money or experience. Hope everyone has a better experience than we did.

The general manager, Joe, was so efficient, welcoming & offered my family amazing service. The food was soooo delicious! The fried shrimp was well seasoned. Try the key lime pie! I will continue coming here because the people who work here are such a gem.

While running an errand in Arlington, noticed the Flying Fish. It was around 5ish on a weekday, and was not busy at all. Parking in the back of restaurant was simple. You order at register, and you can actually view your meal being prepared fresh. We ordered the fish/shrimp combo, fried okra, hushpuppies; pretty tasty. I will ask when we return if we can have fish a tad more seasoned, but still tasty. A little on the small side with pieces though. Hushpuppies are delish. Plenty of seating and clean atmosphere! Self serve drinks. La. hot sauce is a plus! Thank you Maura & Victor for your great service level!!

Worst po boy I ever had. First, they butterfly the shrimp to make it look like they were bigger instead of having shrimp on there. I maybe had a total of 5 shrimp. Next, they put corn breading on the shrimp. The worst part is that they put cocktail sauce on the sandwich. It was very bad, not cheap, and I won’t be back.

I have eaten here multiple times. Every time I had the jambalaya. And that is excellent. Today I decided on something different – Catfish Poor Boy Fried. It was disappointing at best.
The catfish was all crust and minimal meat. The picture is my dissection of the catfish. There is hardly any meat inside the crust.
The fries and hushpuppies are decent. The fresh lemonade is very good.
Also, I never liked seeing a microwave when I walk in. I know most kitchens have them, but it just brings up questions as to what is “fresh”.
The prices seem to get higher than last, but I am not sure how much. Sorry.
That it for now. I probably will go again for the jambalaya, but there are also more options now in the area.

Flying Catfish in Arlington absolutely delivered. The catfish was perfectly cooked and crispy. The fries were hot and fresh. And don’t skip dessert: the bread pudding was rich, warm, and comforting, with the right amount of sweetness. The meal was satisfying. If you’re craving fried fish, Flying Catfish is a must-visit. Also Maura did a wonderful job with answering all our food questions and selections since it was our first time! Thanks Maura!

First time here but Mom has been here. She came with me despite her feelings of this place being just average. She’s had better. Main complaint Catfish filets not meaty enough..too puny and thin. I agree they look a bit pitiful in comparison to places in Arlington that charge the same or a few dollars more for larger meatier filets. Her new potatoes were cold and she mentioned each time she comes in theres flies. We definitely had an annoying visitor during our dine in here. I got the grilled red snapper with grilled zucchini and squash. Deeelish!

In the bustling culinary landscape, Flying Fish has carved out a niche, promising a harmonious blend of visual appeal and gastronomic delight. However, the reality of my dining experience fell tragically short of this promise.
Flying Fish promised much but delivered little. The awkward ordering process, requiring patrons to line up and squint at a menu on a TV screen, set an unfortunate tone for the evening.
The food, despite its visual appeal, was a letdown. The hush puppies were a rare bright spot with a satisfying flavor and texture. However, the shrimp and salad were bland and tasteless, failing to live up to their promise.
Overall, the experience was a disappointing 5 out of 10. Flying Fish needs to reevaluate its approach, as it currently falls short of the culinary excellence one expects in this vibrant city. In addition, it truly resembles the line more hype than flavor.
