This was an impulse stop while traveling that I am so glad I acted on. The food is wonderful, the service so courteous, and the dining area was clean and very well air conditioned. I would patronize this restaurant consistently if I lived in the area. Shown in the photo is the brown stew chicken. Not even remotely spicy for those of us with unfortunately delicate stomachs. 10/10.

This hole in the wall was incredible. I love the jerk chicken. The cabbage was really good. My daughter ordered the curry shrimp, which was very flavorful. Let me not forget about the festival dumplings they were really good as well. The service was even better than the food. This is a must try. Overall, it was a great experience.

Fantastic locally owned Jamaican restaurant with amazing food and great vibes. The jerk wings are my absolute favorite—perfectly seasoned with just the right kick—but everything I’ve tried has been delicious. Friendly service, authentic Caribbean flavors, and definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to.

My dad and I dropped by here to sample a cuisine neither of us had much experience with, and were not disappointed by the food. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned–enough of a kick to give it some flavor, but not so much as to make it unenjoyable. The dumplings were tasty and the fried plantains were some of the best I’ve ever had. Portion sizes were generous for the price. All in all, I’m glad we gave it a chance and will definitely be returning to try out more of their menu.

Please don’t miss out on some great Jamaican cuisine tucked away almost out of sight. We would never have seen it if I had not been doing an internet search for places to eat in the area. When you walk in you are greeted warmly into a very clean, well maintained Jamaican atmosphere. The chef offered a sample of the goat and curry sauce before my husband decided on that for his meal. I had the jerk chicken. We both had the plates which came with rice, plantains, cabbage and fried dumplings. There wasn’t one thing that wasn’t perfectly seasoned. The meats were so tender and juicy. The owners were so friendly and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be back for some oxtail. Sadly they had just sold their last plate before we came in. For the quality and portion sizes of food we received I would say the prices are low.

Delicious food, nice people. I got the jerk shrimp. It was very good, if a little light on the actual shrimp. Their fried plantains and deep fried roll were so good. Only complaint was that the dining area was soooo steamy and muggy. But I got mine to go so it wasn’t too big a deal.

Let’s have fun
My stepdad was originally from Trinidad. So, I always enjoyed islander food. He incorporated different textures, blends, and flavors . At the time, I would go all the way down to Huntsville AL just so I could eat Jamaican food. Then, a place opened up in Chattanooga, and I would stop in from time to time. But the cook was not authentic. Just because you go to culinary school doesn’t make you a cook.It just puts a title behind your job. Idk if the cook at Floyd’s went to school, but his food is true and authentic . He isn’t doing it to make gain in his pocket. He and his wife are doing it to make your heart gain the love of their culture. I’ve tasted just about everything on the menu, and the only thing I could not handle was the jerk wings, but the jerk chicken u can’t go wrong. Catch me on the right day. I will try the wings again . Even their sodas are great. The Oxtail goes really fast. Trippy Hippy supplies me with my drinks.

I did not expect to find Jamaican food in this area, and certainly not Jamaican food that is this good. Everything I have eaten there is really, really good. The staff is very friendly and courteous, accommodations are simple and clean.
I’ve had the jerk chicken, jerk pork, and oxtail so far and have not been disappointed at all. All plates have come with rice and peas, plantains, and festival bread. There is scotch bonnet hot sauce on the table, but I have found that it is perfect as it comes from the kitchen.
There is no bathroom on site, so make sure you go before you arrive. This restaurant is definitely worth a short detour from the interstate if you happen to be driving though.
It’s nothing fancy, just really good food, at a good price, served by good people. What more could you ask for!
