This was the worst experience I ever had at this restaurant. The young guy at the counter was very rude and I believe that is why he cheated me out of my food and definitely the food was cooked horribly and it is never that way when the lady, I believe to be the mom is there. Just for my mom and myself it was $82 and some change, and I did not get any of the condiments that I asked for because he brought it out to our car. I should’ve checked the bag that is my fault, but this is why it is hard to patron black businesses because your subject to things like this happening to you after you spend your hard earned money. If it wasn’t for the fact that I know the mom, the Original owner’s daughter is so decent and very fair with regards to customer service and meal portions and cleanliness. I would honestly never come back to this restaurant. Ray’s Fish and chicken would’ve been the best bet today, Hands down! I am saved and I love God and I normally never complain, but I prayed about what happened to me and I asked God to do to them what they did to me whoever did it there was only 2 of them working. there was a very rude guy at the counter, and the young lady in the cooking area didn’t seem to be bad or anything, but I’m sure what happened to me was because of the young man who needs to go back to school because he didn’t understand how to read his own menu.

The fried snapper at this restaurant is a must-try. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it’s perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The fried coating adds just the right amount of crunch, making each bite a delight. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, it’s a satisfying dish that hits all the right notes. Highly recommended!

I had been meaning to try this restaurant out for a while now and I should have come sooner. The food is amazing. I walked in and was greeted by the owner who is really nice and a gentleman behind the counter took my order and fried it right there who was also a pleasure to talk to.
The portions are generous. The fish is well seasoned and perfectly fried. The french fries are potato cut fries with the skin on. They have quite the assortment of fish to choose from and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I also snagged up some hand pies and the apple pie is great.

After an appointment at UC Davis, wanted some fish for lunch. Googled what was around and found Flowers Fish Market & Restaurant, so thought I’d try it out. It was about 2pm when we arrived and one other patron was ordering. We ordered the small ling cod meal. It came out with about 6 nice size pieces, fries, bread and sauces. The tarter and cocktail sauces were great, fish had a nice amount of batter and tasted great. Loved the fries, just wish they were cooked a bit more. When ordering, she did ask how crispy we wanted our food but assumed she meant the fish . Would definitely return when I’m in the area.

Absolutely fantastic! The food and the people are beyond amazing. The catfish and cornbread with greens transported me straight back to my childhood, pure comfort on a plate. And the sweet potato pie? It was an out-of-body experience! Mama Flowers and her nephew are truly wonderful people, and their warmth makes the meal even better. Highly recommend!

My first time eating there I moved here from Albuquerque New Mexico and I wanted some fish I ordered the catfish for myself and Red snapper for my girls fish cooked perfect and also the fried okra best fish I’ve tasted in awhile big portions fast friendly service I recommend anyone to try out this place I will definitely be back

Swung by here while out working and I’m super happy that I did! The owner is the sweetest and no one can compare when it comes to fresh fried seafood in the Oak Park area! Had the Whiting w/ fresh cut fries and it was amazing. I usually have to wait til my FL trip every year to have whiting. Flaky, perfect crust, & the fries are as legit as they get. Oh, did I mention the tartar sauce? Made in house by Evette herself. Best tartar sauce I’ve ever had! This place is a MUST try if you haven’t already!

My wife and I arrived approximately 15 minutes before they were scheduled to close for the evening. There were two additional customers waiting to receive their orders. The owner was finishing up the customers orders but was willing to accept our order so close to closing. We informed her that we were attending a church conference nearby but had just been released for dinner break. We felt fortunate that we arrived in time due to being very hungry. We order a snapper meal and a chicken wing meal. Both we hot and delicious. Thank you for blessing us real good. When in the area go by it is really worth it.
