The flavors transforms you back to what Chinese food is supposed to taste like!! My husband is from Detroit and I’m in love with St. Louis style Chinese food and this place nailed it!! We’re truck driver passing through and the reviews drove us here. The portion size for each meal is enough for 2-3 people. We choose to stay and eat in, our server was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect. We had Shrimp egg fu yong, pork fried rice (highly recommended and fried rice) and fried beef oh and steamed dumplings and egg drop soup. Priced reasonably, maybe too low for the amount of food you get. 10/10 highly recommend

So far, all beef, chicken, and shrimp dishes I have tried are amazing. Particularly the

Egg rolls/ crab rangoons/ dumplings
I’ll be trying some of the traditional Chinese/cantonese recipes on the menu

I was pleasantly surprised by my meal at Flower Drum! I’ve driven past this place almost daily but never stopped in until a friend recommended it. I usually go for General Tso’s Chicken, but after reading some reviews, I decided to try the Flower Drum Chicken Dinner Special—and I’m so glad I did.
The portion size was impressive! For $12.99, I got a generous serving of chicken, rice, broccoli, and an egg roll. I’ve ordered specials from other places before, and it always feels like you’re getting less food for the lower price, but that wasn’t the case here. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.
Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be recommending Flower Drum to others. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

This saddens me because my dad use to love to eat here since I was younger, and I hadn’t been here in years but never had a bad experience in 20 yrs prior decided we were ordering take out. Let me tell you I regret ever talking my family into ordering here. I finally decided to drive out the way to get dinner for my family and it was absolutely horrible. I don’t care what the reasons for the quality of the food were. Hell it could have been because it was close to 9pm but I would have rather them not take the order then serve us oily over cooked and sauced mess. All the food was over cooked and chewy. The breading on all the meat was soggy from the extreme excessive sauce put on everything. Only thing edible was the sweet and sour chicken because it was unsauced. Even fried rice tasted old. The crispy beef was so soggy the white stuff they put under it for decoration was soggy and drenched in sauce. I was extremely disappointed that this was my family’s first time eating Flower Drum and damn sure will be the last. Like how do you not even have filling in the crab ragoons!! They were free and we couldn’t even enjoy that. Waste of 70$. Would have been better off eating at the other three Chinese food places we past to get to there. No restaurant should ever serve this type of nonsense and get away with it. It was takeout so that’s all I really can review is the horrible food. Update: it is 6am and everyone in my house has been throwing up since 2-6 am after they ate the little bit that they tried to from flower drum This was a horrendous experience.

I threw my entire order in the trash. Everything was fried in the same oil that was so obviously old. Fried mushrooms were dark brown balls of grease. The egg rolls awful and as greasy as the mushrooms. Hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. It was like eating a bowl of brown gravy. The crispy beef wasn’t crispy and was soaked in some very sweet sauce. It was sickeningly sweet and inedible. What used to be a great restaurant is no longer. I’ll never order again.

Authentic Chinese restaurant feel when you walk in. Food was one of the bests I’ve had and I review Chinese places a lot. Love their Szechuan spicy beef and their dumplings. Very very very nice staff too! Definitely coming back here.

Ordered my food off of uber eats, food came warm. Unfortunately there is absolutely NO flavor to my food at all. I got garlic chicken, ham fried rice, egg rolls And Beef lo mein. Portions were good and the egg rolls were crispy other then that, I won’t be ordering again! It’s unfortunate because I used to order from them often, how is it possible for food to have no flavor at all? I had to put tons of soy sauce on my food to really semi enjoy it. I did 2 stars bc the food was warm and good portion sizes.
