Our group had lunch here and everything was fantastic! I had the Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe and loved every bite. The pic attached will show how good it looks. Our group also had a few sandwiches, and the were quite large. I was a bit jealous and wanted both of them also. The Meatball and the Cali Club are thumbs up people! This seems like a popular place so be warned, especially if you have a larger group. Another plus is how quick they are, so good to know if you’re on a lunch break.

Penny Roma’s lunch service, run by the Flour + Water Pasta Shop, is one of the more polished midday options in the Mission. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the cacio e pepe. Both were executed without shortcuts and showed the same level of detail they put into dinner service. We sat indoors next to the big wood-burning kitchen fire, which adds warmth and atmosphere without turning the room loud. Inside stays quiet, which makes it an easy pick for families. The mid-century modern decor is intentional and not overdone. Service is efficient and the space stays organized. For a controlled, comfortable lunch with legitimately good food, Penny Roma delivers.

Loved our lunch yesterday. East and West Coast chopped salads were delicious and large enough that I ate my leftovers with dinner. We did change tables because the music was a bit loud for conversation. We must have been near a speaker. But the second table was perfect.

The best meatball sub I’ve ever had… I’m serious! It’s incredible and very filling. The ingredients are very fresh and this goes for all of their menu items. I love their fresh take home pasta as well. But the menu items are pricey. A sandwich alone can cost you up to $25 dollars alone.

This is one of my favorite reasons to go to SF, pick up some fresh pasta and kale pesto, some bolognese for the meat eaters. I had extra time today and had the vegan sandwich as a dine in, rather then taking it to Dolores Park and people watching while indulging in the good life. Wait. It’s a whole different experience! Warm and oozing deliciousness, a balanced contrast to the fresh crisp greens. Best Vegan Sandwich in the Bay Area. Right?

I give out quite a few five stars, but the Pasta Shop deserves all 5, if not more. We had the Italian, fried chicken, and Cali Club sandwiches and damn they were good, like SUPER good. In fact, I’d go back tomorrow too so I can try the meatball sandwich. Of course, what goes best with sandwiches… beer! The Temescal Pilsner was delicious. The atmosphere of the Pasta Shop is adorable and team working was delightful.

Terrible quality and overpriced. The food used to be decent but now it’s bad. $24 salad that came in a pathetic box, half full of moldy greens. SF prices for a Midwest salad bar. What is this the airport, jk the airport has better quality food than this place.

Ordered ahead of time, picked up and ate on their outdoor tables. Food was delicious and portions were large. We asked them to cut the fried chicken sandwich into 4 pieces! The fries were perfectly cooked and crispy!

Flour & Water Pasta Shop makes good little sandwiches. We had their salumi (Italian combo) $18 and Philly roast porchetta $19 for lunch. My friend and I swapped 1/2 of our sandwiches so we can have both. The Italian combo sandwich wasn’t bad. The bread was a little tough and might have been toasted too long. It could have used more of a variety of meats such as capicola, prosciutto or even salami. Instead this sandwich only had mortadella and ham. They used iceberg lettuce and that was boring. Arugula and Italian meats would have been bomb. The little Philly roast porchetta was also not bad. I liked how there were little pieces of sweet friarelli peppers in there.
We also wanted to get the cheese and meat board. It turns out, it is served in to-go containers even though we were eating there. I thought it was a waste of to go containers and decided not to support that type of behavior.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad lunch. But I left still kind of hungry.

This is maybe unfair, but this fried chicken sandwich is missing the pickles it came with back when this place was called salumeria. With such a light dusting of peperoncini the sandwich is just too rich. Also didn’t love the dark pattern of 30% tip being leftmost on the checkout, going down to 20% — for tables that you set and bus yourself.
