Not as good as the one off brunswick rd, but it’s still a good bakery/neighborhood coffee lounge. Very comfortable. Very calm and friendly. Good vibes. Lots of good breakfast food.

Good soups and pastries with a nice
selection of coffee options…smoothies..juices.
Fresh made to go sandwiches. I got a tuna fish sandwich and latte to go. They make the best tuna fish sandwiches but now are almost 9 bucks!
They have day old discounted breads and pastries. There is seating available inside with a couple tables outside. Try their frozen soups ( large tubs) to save money..especially in the winter !

The Sunday afternoon baristas are quick, cheerful, attentive, friendly and darling. Great seasonal drinks and the pastries are always nice. We’ll back for another hot cider concoction!

I dont know if the employees are not paid well enough or treated well enough or maybe they are just having a bad day? Every time I have come here the last 3 years the employees are rude, very unprofessional, and pretty much ignore me and some other customers, but not others. I just came to order a bagel and the employees were ignoring everyone and then one employee asks to take my order, I ask for a frittata and if she can heat it, she responds by telling me it’s self serve then continues doing other things, I wanted to order a bagel. Maybe she hates women because all the men who were in line behind me weren’t given a rude attitude and were helped immediately. The other worker screwed up someone’s drink with almond milk and about had a melt down over it. The customer told her to just finish the drink with regular milk instead of almond milk because everyone was tired of waiting and tired of the weird attitude from these 2 employees.

Grass Valley has two Flour Gardens to choose from. I prefer the atmosphere of the Brunswick location, but the sweet treats, coffee, and food are good both places. The downtown Flour Garden is a go to place to grab coffee and maybe a bagel for breakfast.

There was a fly in the coconut macaroons and other pastries. I told them about it and they said they would get it. I waited a while for my bagel and they did nothing about it. When I got my bagel, I told another employee about it and said that I didn’t know if they heard me, but that there was a fly in the coconut macaroons. The first employee overhears says they’ll get to it. I really doubt they will and will probably keep serving the macaroons to people even though it was contaminated by the fly. Gross. Also, my immune booster was not sour enough. Will not be back here.

Having lived in GV for 25 years I have visited Flour Garden several times. It’s not my favorite but the pastries are usually good enough, sometimes really good. I just bought a banana muffin and a raspberry scone and was sorely disappointed. They were both very dry and tasted day old. I called to give my feedback and maybe receive a remedy. There was no apology, only a suggestion that I heat them to make them taste fresher. It was definitely not worth the $10. and the customer service was sub par. What a bummer!

We ordered two cakes from here. Placing an order was a great experience. They were busy when I called and was told that they would call back and they did within 5 minutes. Olaf was very patient in taking down the order. The cakes themselves were absolutely beautiful, and sooo delicious! One cake was a chocolate cake with coconut custard cream filling and cream cheese frosting. The other cake was a lemon cake with lemon curd filling and lemon butter cream frosting. The cakes were both moist and soft, the filling and frosting on both cakes was not too sweet. Will definitely order cakes from them again! Thanks for making my birthday so memorable!
