We opened our first bakery in the South End in 2000 with one goal: to make the world a sweeter place through warm smiles, gooey sticky buns, and irresistible BLTs. Every day we pinch ourselves that we get to do what we love – share awesome food and welcoming hospitality – with everyone who walks through our doors and visits us here. Led by James Beard Award-winning pastry chef + co-owner Joanne Chang, Flour Bakery now has nine locations in Boston + Cambridge. We offer buttery breakfast pastries; soft + chewy cookies; luscious pies; gorgeous cakes; and fresh, made-to-order sandwiches, soups, and salads – all prepared daily by our dedicated team.

Branch of a local chain of pastry shops specializing in French treats like croissants & sticky buns.

I have visited Flour Bakery a couple of times and am also pleased with my coffee and this last time a sandwich! It is conveniently located and for the most part are pretty quick with the order. I highly recommend that you order on the app ahead of time as the Mass Ave location can get pretty busy during peak times. I really enjoyed the sticky buns here and will definitely come back again!

Ordered the coconut cake and the mousse cake. The mousse cake was alright but nothing special. The coconut cake was so incredibly dry and past its prime. The service was great. Someone had taken my order but the staff fixed the issue right away. The place was so crowded that it was hard to move around. With that amount of people, I would’ve expected the food to be better.

Excellent bakery with hot food. The banana bread would have been better heated up but was still very good at room temperature. The vegetarian bun was exceptional!

Love Flour Bakery! My favorite Boston-area bakery, by far. Best combination of amazing food and reasonable prices. Sandwich orders can be slow occasionally, but worth the wait. Pastries out of this world. In ten years, only one less-than-perfect baked item (a dry piece of sour cream coffee cake), which outshines any place!

Absolutely loved my visit to Flour Bakery + Café! The grilled cheese was perfectly crispy and comforting, and the chive cheddar scone was rich, buttery, and full of flavor. The cappuccino was bold and delicious—just the right kick. A cozy spot with amazing food and great vibes. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice place with a wide selection. But as for the food – honestly, nothing special. Nothing that really stood out or left a lasting impression. If you’re looking for something quick and decent – it’s fine. You can also grab something to go. Drinks were okay.

Good catch for a quick breakfast in Cambridge. Un pain Chocolate and Cappuccino. The pastry is really good, rich in dark chocolate and so soft with butter that just melt away from the very first bite. Remember to ask for warming though. I didn’t get a right cappuccino I ordered, because it’s felt like a latter. Coffee flavor and foam of milk are both not on point. And I really wish this could serve in a cup since I was dined in. But the pastry and ambience can totally beat this!

The Flour bakery in Cambridge delivered tasty baked goods and great service. I’m a returner customer here.

The last time I ordered chicken salad sandwhich and lemonade. It was really fresh and delicious. During lunch hours, I advise to place an order for pick up to avoid lines.

The catered service is top notch for my business. I ordered several celebrate cakes. Everything was delivered on time.

I definitely recommend coming in for a sweet treat.

This review is based on several visits in the last few months. I would like to start with the good things, the ambiance, the staff and more important the management. I once had an issue with my order and after a quick email to the management, I heard back within hours (thanks Max).

Now on to the food…. I generally like to try different things and lately, I tried the tuna salad which was superb. The Greek salad was not that great. It had too many olives, too much cheese and just really salty overall. It takes the idea of eating healthy away which is why I deducted a star.
As for the chicken roasted sandwich, it was great and the apple in it went really well.

As for desert, I generally go with the berry bread putting which is fantastic. Overall this is a great place for healthy dishes and quick service.

Seems to be a really popular spot, and is definitely for a good reason. I got the Brown Butter Pecan Blonde and the Strawberry Lemonade and both tasted amazing. The blondie wasn’t overpoweringly sweet, which isn’t always a given for bakeries like this. The Strawberry drink was bright and was a refreshing complement to the rich blondie. Though it was on the sweeter side, it was very sippable.

Wait times and lines are slightly long given its popularity, but I think there’s a way to order at a kiosk. If I’m remembering correctly, prices were pretty standard, about $3-6 for a pastry, $9-12 for a sandwich. Will definitely be back to try some more.
