We tried this diner for breakfast for the first time today, and it was a great experience. It’s located right on the Overseas Highway, in the parking lot of a very typical American motel, and it truly feels like stepping into a classic movie-style diner.
As soon as you sit down, you’re welcomed by huge tables already stocked with ketchup, mayonnaise, sauces, and basically anything you could possibly want. The atmosphere is pure old-school America. The waitresses were very kind, friendly, and polite, which immediately made us feel comfortable.
The menu is massive, especially when it comes to breakfast. There are countless options, both sweet and savory, all very traditional and unmistakably American. The coffee is continuously refilled by the waitresses, which is always a big plus, and the food was tasty and well prepared.
Service was maybe a little on the slow side, but honestly, it fits perfectly with the experience—you’re there to relax, enjoy the food, and soak in the atmosphere. Prices are reasonable and pretty average for the area.
Overall, a classic American diner that delivers exactly what you’d expect: good food, friendly service, and a fantastic, authentic vibe. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re driving along the Overseas Highway.

The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the egg & cheese croissant and the cinnamon roll, both were super good. The egg and cheese were cooked perfectly and the croissant was flaky. The cinnamon was to die for, from the soft pillowy bread that melted in your mouth, it had the perfect sweetness that had you wanting more. I highly recommend getting the cinnamon roll if you’re also a cinnamon roll lover. We ordered takeout over the phone and the lady was super nice and bubbly. This cafe is a must if you’re looking for a delicious breakfast on the keys.

This place is a gem. The breakfast was top notch, simply the best. The biscuits and gravy alone will have you returning. My waitress was the sweetest person I have met here in the keys. I definitely recommend this place.

We were in key west for a few days and stopped here on our way home. This was by far the best breakfast we had on the entire trip!! The food was delicious and the prices were good. The waitress was very nice and friendly and quickly put tables together for our party of 6. We would definitely recommend the Florida Keys Cafe.

Hubby and I took our first vacation alone ever. We got on a plane at 5:30 in the morning and landed in Key West at 10:30am. We were STARVING and looking for somewhere to get some grub. Saw this lovely little cafe and took a chance and it was definitely the best decision we made as far as food! The service was phenomenal, the food was amazing and the people were great. We went back two more times during our stay. Whether you are grabbing breakfast or lunch if you are in the area, definitely take the time and stop in! You won’t regret it!

This is literally the best food for breakfast in the lower keys, do not even bother going anywhere else in Big Pine especially. The Galley is a close second in cudjoe but that’s it. Service is both friendly and and personal, (thank you to Sacred and Rylan today!) and the owner is right there working along everyone almost every day. The food always comes out so fast. Also, if you do come for lunch the soups are home made and to die for. For anyone that may need it there is also Wi-Fi available.
