Went for a casual dinner with family. You order at the counter and sit wherever you want. Service was wonderful though. They brought our food out when it was ready and refilled our drinks multiple times. Everyone was nice. Blackened grouper was delicious! House made sauces, coleslaw and corn bread. After we ate we went outside for a drink and listened to the live music for a bit. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic food, entertainment, and even a playground for the kids! Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Tony the balloon guy and Phyllis are here for balloon animals and Face painting! Highly recommend, so much fun, they won’t want to leave!

This place used to be Ballyhoo. One of our favorite restaurants in our neighborhood. It sadly closed and now it’s remodeled into this new place – Florida Cracker Fish Company. I had grilled grouper and coleslaw and Oliver had a blackened grouper sandwich. It was plenty of food and pretty tasty. I do miss the she crab soup though.

Arrr, matey! Listen here, this here meal was the finest grub this ol’ sea dog’s ever laid eyes on! Th’ portions were fit for a scurvy-ridden crew, and the service was as good as gold doubloons. Th’ food was cooked to perfection, and th’ servers were as friendly as a parrot on yer shoulder. If ye be lookin’ for a great breakfast, this be th’ place to go!

The Florida Cracker Fish Company is located in the old Ballyhoos. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch. This is a quick-service restaurant, so you place your order and pay upfront and your food is brought out to you. We only waited about 5 minutes for our food. I will say that the grouper sandwiches we ordered were delicious. I ordered grits for my included side item and my fiancé had the coleslaw, and both were generous portions. You also are given a piece of cornbread which might have been my favorite part of the whole meal. As for the restaurant itself, they did a ton of renovations, it’s no longer dark and is now brighter and more spacious. Seating is picnic benches or high top tables in the bar area. They still have the outdoor deck with tables and portable heaters. In the front they have a small area where they sell branded shirts, hats and other merchandise.

Neat little place that had seating at 7PM on a Saturday night. You seat yourself wherever available. Lots of tables that seat six. When you are ready, you go to the counter to order your food and they bring it to your table. You bus your own drinks and condiments. This quasi-service model where you pre-pay for food and are prompted with a minimum 18% tip recommendation for the “service” that has not happened yet is hilarious and unfortunately so common I don’t bother taking a star off for it anymore. I hope no one is paid server wages in this establishment as there are no servers in the historical sense. Anyhow, the staff was friendly, and the food was brought out quickly. Gumbo was delicious. Perhaps there could have a been a tad more for the price, but it was top-notch. Mac n Cheese was a little plain, but in all fairness, we ordered the plain Mac n Cheese. The French fries along with the array of dipping sauces were the best. Complimentary cups of water (or bottled water if you prefer). I would definitely come again to try out perhaps the shrimp and grits and some other dishes I did not have a chance to sample.

This is a wonderful local spot that delivers on its promise. Seafood is fresh and tasty, price points are in line with the quality you’d receive at comparable seafood restaurants, and the service was outstanding from the hostess to the bartenders to the waitstaff. Added plus was the laid back and welcoming decor, the fun music (classic rock & country), and the bathrooms were in excellent condition and clean. We had fried oysters, the grouper rueben, mac n cheese, coleslaw, cornbread, and to drink, a Blood Orange Grove, and a local beer. Everything we had was excellent. We also bought their Apalachicola hot sauce – delicious. To top things off, the owner, Blair, visited our table and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a good experience. We will most certainly be back and bring our dogs, who are allowed outside and on the deck.

The food was good, the service was not. The regret is they make you pre-pay your food and tip. I ended up giving an excellent tip for lousy service.

Had the shrimp omelet, and it was fantastic. Portions are large. Grits were amazing. Biscuit was so delicious, too.
