I came to America in 1990. July 14th 1990 was my first American rum cake. Dec 2nd 1990 was my first Italian cheesecake. There’s no other places I rather go other then here. Most of the bakery places in the last 35 years living in America don’t even know what an Italian cheesecake is. When we say there’s no other places then home, exactly how feel about Florentine. Even tho I lived 6hrs away, I still drive up and for my cake and other tasty pastries. Was there on the weekend and Florentino once again make me feel at home. Highly recommended for everyone to visit this place. It’s worth the trip and you won’t be disappointed. Im actually eating my rum cake now as I’m typing this review. Thank you Florentine for a wonderful childhood memories and i will be a lifetime customer of yours! Nothing better than a delicious slice of cake after a long day at work. BTW, no one make a better Italian cheesecake than Florentine. You guy gave me my first taste of it. Since then I have tasted many from other places. No one ever come close to the flavor.

Sweet place! Be careful you might want to buy one of each… I mean they really have the best pusty’s (Italian pastry) around, and some nice choices too!
You’ll get service with a smile when you are ordering and that makes everything look better!

Last week, on our way to Vermont to visit family, we stopped in at the Florentine Pastry shop in Utica. I was intrigued because the bakery was established in 1928 and given its age, I assumed that there must be some good pastries to be had there. Well, I was right!! We tried a number of the bakery cookies and were especially fond of the dipped hazelnut cookies and the almond creme crescents – to die for! My husband also tried a couple of the pasties (aka pasticiotti) – raspberry and chocolate – that he thought were delicious! We’ll be sure to stop back in when traveling that way again!

The original Florentine, and still the best. Rumor has it that these guys supply the Florentine in New Hartford. The pusties are fantastic and they always have a great selection. You can’t go wrong with the marble biscotti, it’s phenomenal, but call ahead and they’ll make it fresh for you!

We have gotten every birthday cake since we have moved here from them and let me tell you everything is a more pleasurable experience. We have a lot of friends and all have different tastes and flavors they prefer Florentines nailed it everytime !! Pasticho cannoli cake , super special rum cake, tarimisu, and so many others I can’t keep track. Let’s not forget the pastries either amazing stuff all around
