I’ve been to the Fairfield location a few times and never had an issue. This was my first time at the Milford location.
The food was tasty. I sat at the bar and had a hard cider and a burger, the bartender was decent though she seemed a little distracted despite having a mostly empty bar.
When I received my check I was shocked to see the gratuity was included. From the website of the Milford location it says a 20% gratuity will be added to parties of 6 or more. I’m a big guy, but I’m one person. I felt this was insulting and deceptive. Further, after she ran my card, with the gratuity included it printed out the signature copy with a space for gratuity.
This leads me to believe it is either standard practice of this location or the bartender to auto gratuity guests without them knowing and I’m sure most don’t realize and tip on top.
I chose not to be confrontational inside because I just wanted a peaceful meal. But I will not be going back to this location unless this is addressed and I encourage anyone else considering this establishment to steer clear until they can be transparent rather than deceptive.
I’ve included my receipt, my copy of the signature copy, and a screenshot from the Milford location website. The language of their auto gratuity practice is also in their food menu.

Our server George was lovely. He checked in just the right amount with a calm and cheerful disposition. All of our orders were perfect even though we had so many customizations. This is a great place to hang out, where they won’t rush you but they are also perfectly attentive. There are unique flavors, like blackberry jalapeño wings (not spicy!), and a lot consideration for allergies. The menu is labeled really well with multiple options and customizations for allergies! And vegan / veggie options too! They even have high powered heaters so you can sit on the enclosed porch and look directly out at the water without being cold in the slightest.

Second time back, so that says something to start. Nice, family-friendly atmosphere, friendly staff. I wish I remembered our waitress’ name, she was bubbly, friendly; my friend and I hadn’t seen eachother in a while and she gave us a lot of time to chat until we were ready to order. She also offered for us to move if we wanted to a four top (we were at a 2 seater, kind of in the middle of ‘the crowd’). The burgers (we got The Goat, and the Honey Blue Burger) were flavorful and perectly cooked, offered in 6oz or 10oz, 6 is plenty (though I did order a 10oz Chip & Dip to go for my boyfriend, which is HUGE). I like the fries, but I do wish they were a little thicker, if I need to nitpick (but that’s preference). Prices are fair for the size of burger and amount of fries. We didn’t get alcohol so cannot comment on that. Highly recommend!

Absolutely my favorite burger in Milford! We get takeout here almost weekly, it’s seriously that good. They also accommodate to many dietary restrictions which is awesome for me as I can’t have gluten. Their cauliflower flatbread buns are awesome and honestly feel healthier than regular bread. You can literally customize your burger in so many ways with such creative toppings. Their sides are also great, my fave is the kale with bacon, so GOOD!! Definitely check this place out if you’re looking for mega delicious burgers!

This time as it was still too cold outside, the highlight of our visit was the adult milkshakes, particularly the Caramel milkshake—a sublime fusion of creamy delight with a hint of Baileys that blended gracefully on the palate, elevating the classic dessert to a luscious indulgence.

We decided to check out Flipside on Saturday. Normally, we visit the one in Fairfield, but since we were closer to Milford, we thought we’d give it a try. It was such a fantastic experience exploring a new Flipside in a different location. The food was incredible! The drinks were delightful, and our waitress was amazing as well. You always impress us! Keep up the wonderful work you do flipside! It’ll definitely have us and others coming back for more. Thank you so much! The atmosphere and the delicious food, which is something that many other places seem to lack. Everyone should come and eat here—you won’t regret it!

It was a Saturday night at 7 and even with reservations the wait was worth it. My 2 guests both had burgers and said they were the best ever. I chose Mac and cheese with buffalo bites and chili topped. I could only eat half and I was hungry. They have best chili.
