Absolutely phenomenal NY pizza. I was pleasantly surprised to find such great NY pizza in Dana Point of all places. After ordering they called me to let me know about their BOGO for $5 deal which I felt was really thoughtful.
Without the deal the pizzas are on the upper end of costs but way wayyyyyyy better than any other chain in the area.

This pizza was the best in town that we have tried since our fave joint closed. We got a Hawaiian no onion. For the price, it could use a little more pineapple and bacon but we will ask for that next time. They have great specials and we will be back!

I’ve never been to New York, so I can’t tell ya if it’s authentic. But, this is some GOOD pizza. They got the basics down. The crust, cheese and sauce are delicious! Crispy crust, gooey cheese and tasty sauce. They put pepperoni instead of sausage on mine, but It didn’t matter, the rest was so good. I also got a salad, garlic knots and meatballs. All good, but the meatballs stood out the most. I reheated the pizza in toaster over the next day, and it was perfect still!

I might start out by saying that I placed my order via Uber Eats and when my pizza arrived it was ice cold. I ordered the Tomato abseil with cauliflower crust and boy oh boy was I in for a surprise. The pizza was thin as a sheet of paper. The toppings seemed to be counted out and it had literally no taste. There was no tomato sauce and the crust was burned. My $30 for a 10 inch pizza was money thrown right out the window.

When I saw Flippin’ Pizza claiming to offer New York quality pizza…I didn’t believe it. Pathetic pizza is the average in So. OC, nobody makes a great pie. Of course, before you can accept this truth you have to know real NY pizza made by Italians on the island…otherwise you are clueless. California style pizza is 10% that of an authentic New York pizza. I know, my Italian wife is from The City and we have enjoyed many truly incredible slices there. But locating that quality duplicated here has been comparable to spotting Bigfoot riding a unicorn. I gave Flippin’ a shot but as I watched the pie being built, knew instantly disappointment was in my future.
Ya see, the key to making a truly genuine NY style pizza lies in the ingredients. You must have the right type of tomatoes, cheese, and other toppings and well…Flippin’ just doesn’t. It’s just another California pie made using local ingredients. I hate to say it cuz I liked the kids working here…but claiming to be an east coast style pizza kitchen is blatantly false. This is west coast pie all the way and an average version of it at that. Those unfamiliar with exceptional NY pizza won’t know but for those with educated palates…save yourself the letdown. Flippin’ is not even close to the real thing. They need to import ingredients from the Atlantic side of the country to accomplish the goal they claim to offer. The hunt continues…

Service is great! We ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and it was delicious! It was made fresh and quick! This pizza is huge we had to get a “doggy bag” to take the rest home. We also ordered some cookies which hit the spot. If you do not want your cookies crunchy I would definitely recommend to request to cook the cookies 1 minute less. Picture are of the cookies cooked 1 min less. If you ain’t eating from here you are definitely missing out on great pizza. The garden salad is another great side to get. Definitely coming back!

The crust becomes very tough, hard to chew, when it cools off.
The pepperoni topping was very light (compared to others) and sized small. The sauce was tasty, slightly spicy.
