Friendly service. Excellent food and a wide variety on the menu. Very clean and not too loud. The Strawberry Fields French Toast was amazing and would highly recommend! Also tried the Belgian waffles and Tipsy Iced Chai. Both were excellent!

I was told this was the go-to breakfast spot in Ames, so I had high expectations. Rarely can a place exceed high expectations, but they did! I had the huevos rancheros skillet, my daughter had chicken and waffles. Perfecto! Ron the owner assured our coffee cups were refreshed throughout. The place is clean, comfy and you’ll get enough food for a meal at home. When I return, it’s flip n‘jacks for me!

This place has become a favorite. The chicken n waffles are sooo good! They were stacked and looking nice but I dug right in and then thought to take a pic. Can’t remember what the other dish was called but it was fried potato cubes on bottom, a biscuit, sausage gravy, a large sausage patty and scrambled eggs. You choose egg cook. Plenty of delicious gravy. We chose to have coffee today but I included the drink menu. Have had the mimosas flight and it is tasty!

Great food & service. Pictured is the Power Bowl & waffle with fruit. Lattes are very good, both hot & iced. It was a very busy Sunday afternoon & we were told it would be a 40 minute wait but were seated in 15. A pleasant surprise! Restaurant area is very clean & stylish farm house vibe. However, bathroom is no better than a dive bar bathroom. Avoid it if you can.

The positives of this place are that they’re busy and have a quick turnaround time, the service was fine, and the menu has a lot of interesting choices. But the price point is high for the quality of the food. Large portions, but fast food-ish quality.
I ordered the corned beef hash. It wasn’t real corned beef with fresh-cut, pan-fried potatoes. It was more like one level above canned, processed Hormel corned beef hash. The pancakes were extra fluffy, dry, and flavorless.
Anyway, it’s one of the few choices in town, so I’d probably go again.

This resturant has been on my list for years when my son came here for college. We made it happen this weekend and I wasn’t disappointed. The menu was creative and you could customize what you wanted. There was a short wait to get seated. Food came out fast fresh and hot. Would recommend for brunch 100%.

Food was pretty good. Floors were nasty, bathrooms were gross. Waited 1hr 15min, and when we asked they said they called us. We were sitting there the whole time, nobody called us. They ran that same lie on every customer that came up. If you don’t have the honesty in the front of the house, I can only imagine what actually goes on in the back of the house… When food came, it was tossed down on our table, nobody ever checked to see if it was right, didn’t refill drinks, and made us sit and wait for the check. No syrup was given for pancakes or French toast – got tired of being ignored and ate it without. We won’t be eating here again, and the community will lose another fun and unique place to owner greed. Oh well.

I had the chicken and waffles which I saw on their site. A little pricey at $17.00.It looked delicious. It actually turned out to be delicious. The waffles were advertised as being crispy on the outside and soft in the center . They were just that. The syrup had a good flavor to it and there was enough to cover the waffles and the chicken. There were some things that was not impressive. The chicken that came with the waffles was breaded and sizable but not seasoned at all. It was said to come with bacon but what was on there was barely noticeable possibly even bacon bits it was so small. The butter that came on top was very tasty just not enough of it for my liking. All in all it was it was a very good chicken and waffles but I have tasted better. My wife had the classic breakfast with ham and fruit. It came with 1 piece of toast. $13.00. Don’t dissuade that from you trying it, that is just my opinion.
The waitress was Malarie (pronounced Mallory). She was very courteous answered all of my questions and knew what she was talking about. It would be worthy for you to ask for her if you went in there. All in all 51.68 for breakfast was a little much.
