Flippin Fries Factory is a great spot inside Krate at the Grove! Service was impressively fast, especially considering how busy the area always is. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and the prices are pretty reasonable for the portions you get.
Their main deal is loaded fries, and the menu has some creative options — like Surf n Turf with grilled shrimp and carne asada steak in a honey garlic sauce. I went with the Buffalo Soldier, which comes with southern breaded fried chicken, cheddar cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch over fries. It was amazing!
I also ordered a side of garlic Parmesan sauce just to try it. My plan was to dip a plain fry in it, but the fries were so perfectly covered in sauce that there wasn’t a single dry one left! I ended up dipping the saucy chicken in the garlic parm, and the flavor combo was next level. I’d definitely order that sauce with this dish again.
The buffalo flavor was spot on — not too spicy, just the right amount of heat. I ordered a small, and it was more than enough food. Overall, great value, great flavor, and definitely worth the trip!

Loaded with juicy carne asada steak, plump grilled shrimp, crispy southern fried chicken chunks, sweet bourbon glaze, garlic aioli, and shredded cheddar, all piled on perfectly crispy fries. It’s like the ultimate surf ‘n’ turf ‘n’ chicken party in a basket insanely flavorful and generous portions. The fries themselves are always hot, fresh, and crispy (no soggy disappointments here). If you want some truly great loaded fries with bold, creative toppings, this is THE spot at KRATE. Absolutely delicious food! I got the Jerk Chicken Fries and regret not getting a larger portion. The meat was well seasoned with a nice spicy kick to it and every fry had a crispy crunch down to the last one. They don’t skimp on the portion sizes so you are getting your money’s worth. I will definitely be a regular customer here!

Arrived when opened and it was the first time visiting and I have to say won’t be the last one. The best fries ever. We order bacon cheese and the kratewalker. Once again the BEST FRIES EVER. Super crispy the sauce amazing the chicken incredible. A little far from St Pete but I will definitely be back.

Food is soooo good!! We went to New York and so many other places to eat food like this and we were not impressed. But this place!!!!!!!!! Y’all it’s good.
We ordered online, 15 min wait, picked up on time.
Location was a nice quiet chill vibe, family friendly . My husband and I ordered 2 small Kratewalkers, they came in little boxes, but they don’t play here and filled it UPPPPP. I shared with our two daughters . My husband had our own and ALL OF US WERE FULL.

OMG!! I had to get the ppls favorite. #2 kratewalker. Chicken, shrimp AND steak!! Over fries drizzled with this glaze sauce. So good. Shout out to Jamila, great customer service. I got a small plate and im am soo full. Very fulfilling.

We waited 30 minutes for our food. They literally served multiple people that came in after us. Food was good (I got the BBQ Bacon Ranch fries), but they put all the sauce on top, so none of the fries had any sauce on them. The whole experience was a bit disappointing. Might try it again in the future, but not in any hurry to rush back.

Maybe not the meal we needed but it was sure the meal we wanted. Don’t bother if you’re not into fried stuff with flavor. Or cheese or bbq sauce. But if you want some comfort food you never knew was yours come check this place out. We got a full order and a half order and took home the half. Ordered extra sauce but didn’t need it. We got the full order of the buffalo fries. With fried chicken bits, bbq sauce, cheese, and some ranch dressing. Enjoyed it very much. The weird part was I didn’t need a nap an hour after eating it. A very good small space with a few nice places to sit inside. Especially if it’s a hot day. Come and check out these guys. They work hard and make good food. Service was spot on as well.

There are a lot of choices in the Grove to chose from, but while researching the eateries from home, I kept coming back to this place.
Something about Jerk Chicken atop french fries just kept calling my name.
As it turned out, my brain and gut were spot on for this choice.
I ordered the #4 Flipn. Jerk (large) and she had the #5 BBQ Bacon Ranch (small). Note to self, get the small next time…wow that was a lot of food!
Good food? No…GREAT FOOD! Portions are plentiful. Flavors are out of this world. That Jerk Chicken kinda gets you in the boo boo, but not much. Just right!
I tasted her BBQ and it was outstanding as well.
So many other places to try here in the Grove, going to be hard to go other places, as this pone was so darn good!
