Popped into Flip today to grab a quick lunch on a whim as it is across the street from our Airbnb. I was brave and tried the Fried Fish with tater tots. I typically know better than to get seafood off the coast but had a craving but DANG SON what a fine plate of fish and chips. Juicy flakey fish cooked to perfection with perfect crisp but fluffy crust. Crisp hot tots were perfect. And Flip makes all their own sauces in house and the house made tarter was exceptional, flecked with herbs, creamy, briny, but with tang and perfect bite from horseradish. And the plethora of fiery hot sauces were made by a mad demon genius. The folks working there are clearly passionate about food and it reflects in all the outstanding details. We’ve eaten our way around Ashland this week and the unassuming Flip probably has my vote for best bite. Can’t wait to come back to eat my way through the menu including the Cubano special and some of those incredible looking burgers. Get yourself down here and see how darned good this place is son.

I have been to Flip a couple of times and have enjoyed it very much. I have had the fish sando and the mushroom burger and they were both delicious. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich a lot and looks forward to trying their grass fed beef burger. The buns are soft with a pleasant taste and they have a great selection of sauces. We tried the hand cut fries this last time and they were great, a little more salty than I prefer but still really good. They serve cane sugar sodas and they have a good selection of canned beers. They also have cold water available. Their seating can be a little limited, especially outside but we’ve always found a seat. The service is excellent.

You get what you pay for here. The smell of the beef was what brought us in from the street. Juicy not greasy, great flavor and cooked perfectly. Had blue cheese on our burgers and it was awesome. If you put ketchup on this burger you should be thrown in jail! The hand cut fries were perfect, generous portion (enough for 2-3 people). Complimentary ice water.
If you are more of a quality over quantity person you will be happy coming here.

Really quality flavors! I got the chicken and waffles sandwich and it was incredible! Also a Tillamook chocolate shake was great too. Great sauces and the ingredients are locally sourced and really good!

We had Flip Burger come in and cater lunch for our team here at Southern Oregon Subaru, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was fresh, flavorful, and a huge hit with everyone at the store — you could tell a lot of care went into every bite.
On a personal note, I’ve known Brenden and Wendie for years from helping them with a few cars, and it’s been great to see them put the same level of passion and service into Flip Burger as they do into everything else. They really take care of people, and it shows both in the food and in the way they run their business.
Highly recommend them for any event or lunch — we’ll definitely be having them back!

It’s nothing special. They’re not bad but i wouldn’t say it’s anything better than similar fast food places. The shakes are good, burgers are just ok, fries are pretty bad. The shakes are kinda small and very liquidy but they taste good. For the burgers i feel like the patty is a little bland and could use some extra seasoning on it. For the fries i think they’re twice fried so they’re very hard. Would i recommend it? Probably not since there’s lots of other good food places nearby.

Flip is always one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I’m in town. The grilled chicken sandwich is delicious. The buns are made just down the street at Mix and are perfect. The fries are seasoned perfectly and the fry sauce is on point. I highly recommend the strawberry milkshake as well. A small restaurant inside with some nice sidewalk seating for the warmer months.

The food was amazing, the shop is cute, and the staff is so friendly! They offer gluten free substitutes in almost everything and the gluten free bun is amazing, doesn’t crumble like the bad ones do. So glad I ate here, it was amazing!

I had heard great things about Flip and their burgers, and being a burger aficionado I decided to put them to the test. I applaud any small business that can survive in the tough restaurant biz, so it disappointed me that I found the experience and food so marginal. The tables and unpadded chairs were very uncomfortable and jammed in and the seating could be reworked to include small “deuces” along the wall on the right side of the entry. Although it had just a few customers, my burger took 10-15 minutes to cook with no communication during this time from the front counter staff. The burger was OK but not remarkable. Too much shredded lettuce, although the pickles were great. And I had not been to a burger place that did not have mayonnaise until Flip, this was disappointing. The fries were largely flavorless and over priced. I think this restaurant caters primarily to tourists, but with a little rework on the food and ambience and customer service they could appeal to locals too. The only plus was the price, very reasonable, except for the $5+ fries.

The staff was extremely nice, pleasant to speak with. They presented the food appropriately. However the owners should be ashamed of themselves. This restaurant hasn’t been cleaned possibly in years. I’d be ashamed to own this establishment. There should not be stalactites of dust hanging from roof vents. The floor and walls were disgusting. Nobody should ever eat in a dirty restaurant. I paid $35 for 2 burger, 1 fry and one soda. Overall horrible experience. Please deep clean your establishment daily otherwise your going to kill someone with a foodborne illness.
