Been in Bend for 2+ years and never even heard of it and it’s just 2 miles from our house !!!
We had the best service from our waitress – Courtney W . Such a pleasant lady and very attentive and knowledgeable too – thank you .
I ordered the Coq Au Vin and it was so delicious – the best I have ever eaten .
The cheeseboard was amazing and the crème brûlée was delightful .
They even gave us 3 cute little macaroons in a box to take home . How thoughtful .
( And my husband said the wine was so good too. I don’t drink wine myself and I was the DD)
Definitely returning to this fantastic restaurant .
I would give it 10/10 .
I had my birthday planned there for the paint and sip they had advertised. I booked 4 spots about a month in advance for the paint and sip equalling $200. They cancelled the paint and sip 3 days before because apparently enough people didn’t sign up. I had 5 people in my group not sure how 5 people wasn’t enough. Mind you I now had 3 days to find a new place to do an event at for 5 people and am down $200!! I called and asked when they would refund it because I really needed that money for my birthday… I was told a couple days and it has now been 8 days and I still haven’t been refunded. Do not book anything at flights wine bar unless you want to be canceled on, disappointed, and not refunded in a timely manner.
The staff at Flights Wine Bar are not just servers, but passionate guides on a gastronomic journey. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for wine are contagious, and they are always ready to recommend the perfect pairing for your meal. Their genuine love for what they do shines through in every interaction, making you feel like a cherished guest rather than just a customer.
And the food… ah, the food! Each dish is a display of culinary artistry, meticulously crafted with a perfect balance of flavors and textures. From the first bite to the last, you will be taken on a whirlwind of taste sensations. The charcuterie board is a work of art, with an array of carefully selected cheeses, cured meats, and accoutrements that delight the senses. The plates showcase the finest local ingredients, elevating familiar flavors to new heights. On the day of this visit, we had warm olives, gazpacho and the house potato chips to start, as well as fried chicken (every Thursday) and mac & cheese, all of which were divine.
But what truly sets Flights Wine Bar apart is their commitment to creativity and innovation. Their flight options allow you to explore a multitude of wines, expanding your palate and deepening your appreciation for the intricate world of winemaking. Each flight is thoughtfully curated, showcasing a range of wines that will leave you inspired and eager to learn more.
Flights Wine Bar is not just a place to eat and drink; it is an experience that nourishes the soul. It is a reminder that life is meant to be savored, and that the pursuit of culinary excellence is an art form in itself. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or simply someone who appreciates good food and great hospitality, this place will leave you inspired and longing for more.
My first surprise, the only way to get the bucket of chicken and champagne is to order it to go (which I felt was odd on fried chicken and champagne night). Instead, you can order fried chicken (2 pieces) and a glass of champagne separately, but there is no fried chicken and champagne combo. Again, how strange on fried chicken and champagne night, Thursdays.
Now to the champagne, you can order a glass of champagne for regular price, 35 usd or the entire bottle for 70 something usd, but this is a 39 usd bottle of champagne, so to emphasize no chicken and champagne deal to be had here.
We were very disappointed with this entire affair, and to be honest, I would say there is no such thing as champagne and chicken night at flights currently to eat and drink inside. Flights can remedy this easily by offering a set menu with any discount they choose to eat in.
Lastly, we ordered the 2 piece chicken that came with a fish cake, which was so smelly and fishy that neither myself nor my partner could eat it. I respectfully let our server know that the cake was inedible, and they did nothing to remedy this. No, ” can I get you another one?” Take it off the check, etc. ” Readers, what do you think is good customer service here? Lastly, the fried chicken was bland and mediocre at best.
We do not have a desire to go back here. There are too many other great options in town.
They also do amazing events- I have been to winemaker dinners, tasting events (meet your wine match is a must!), live music on Saturday and trivia on Sunday.
