Oh yeah, we were there for my wife’s birthday, not for my steak. She got Sea bass i think.. said it was really good… looked tiny to me.
The calamari was actually pretty good, but you know my childlike pallet wanted French fries with my steak.. they were obviously frozen fries, but not terrible.
While Porch and Parlor have a better flavored, as their most basic ribeye, Fleming still makes a good one.
Noah, our server was quite interactive and we had a great time. We definitely recommend him as your server if you go. My wife said it was the best Memphis area dining experience she’s had in a while, and told me my steak was every bit as good as Porch and Parlor.. so I guess it was.
She had a few drinks, I had 1 margarita.. and our total bill was $439.. we dont do it often.. but we felt like the dining experience was worth it, and didn’t feel wounded by the cost as we left. Granted, it’ll be another year before we can afford to go back, but a moment we will talk about until then.
I was invited to give this location another try. Cornelius is an amazing server. My sister and I had a great experience. We practically had the whole place to ourselves this time due to snowmageddon 2026. The oysters, steaks, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, and drinks were delicious. They more than made up for the previous visit. Thanks

Went for our anniversary dinner. Our server was good. The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. I actually had to send my brussel sprouts back because they burnt them to practically ash. Why in the world did that ash make it to my table???!? The server said that maybe the kitchen was overwhelmed because they had a party of 35 there. Honestly… for what we paid overall …. not my problem!! The drinks were weak and way overpriced. The oysters were what you would expect for being landlocked. Nothing impressive. The steaks were good but not worth what we paid overall. Other steakhouses are more affordable and have the same steak. Honestly, we’ve knocked it off our bucket list. I will not be back. Tapping out at $384 for two people is extremely ridiculous. I was not impressed at all. Not worth the amount paid.
For the most part, the service was good. The hostess was friendly and seated is right on time for our reservation. Our server was good at first. He was attentive for the most part until the end when he disappeared for a long while.
The room is very dark, which makes for a nice ambiance, but it is very hard to read the menus. This is the 2nd high-end restaurant that did that. It must be a thing. When you have multitudes of people using the flashlight from their phones to read a menu, you may want to rethink the lighting situation. The music they pump in was unexpectedly loud. I’m not used to that in a nicer restaurant.
My food was great. The pumpkin butter and champagne infused butter with the bread were delicious. I started with the pork belly, and it was amazing. I really enjoyed it. BF’s wedge salad was beautifully presented, and it had generous amounts of toppings without being sloppy. It was the ideal starter.
For my main, I had the Chilean Sea Bass. It was perfectly cooked, and the miso sauce was delicious, but there was too much of it. It drowned the fish. I would have preferred 1/2 the amount. The creamed spinach would have been good, but it was way under seasoned.
Unfortunately, BF’s aged ribeye steak was a big mistake. He asked for medium rare, and it came out rare, and it was not very good. Very tough and not seasoned well. By this time our waiter was not very attentive so we couldn’t really remedy the issue, but again, with the reputation and price you pay, there shouldn’t be such inexcusable mistakes as not cooking and seasoning the steak properly. This was a huge letdown. To top it off, we ended the evening with two small flies hovering over our table, which was annoying.
So, what started as a fairly good evening turned out to be a disappointment. Besides our waiter, the rest of the wait staff was great. Very attententive and friendly. This should have been a better experience, but it wasn’t. For the price we paid, we will probably not come back here.
