Impeccable service, okay food, and cocktails to crave for.
I recently dined at Fleming’s Steakhouse & Wine Bar in West Hartford. My mother and I came for a lunch reservation. We shared the milk-bread with lavender honey butter as a starter. The milk-bread was fresh and hot, and lavender butter was tasty without being overpowering.
I ordered the Cowgirl Ribeye steak (medium-well) and the shellfish Louie salad. Mom ordered the prime burger which was served with French fries. We both ordered a few cocktails and some desserts to-go; no complaints there. The chocolate gooey brownie was so good! It came topped with a honeycomb brittle that tasted like toffee, and the sides of caramel and whipped both paired well without being overly sweet. Our favorite cocktails were The Butterfly Effect and the Small Batch Smash. If you’re looking for a strong cocktail then you might enjoy the Small Batch Smash. Their burger was good, but the bottom of a tomato was on the plate upon arrival. We were unsure if it was intended to be garnish, or if a veggie-scrap missed the waste-basket. My steak was overcooked so I sent it back, but the second steak that came out was cooked properly. The waiter and (who seemed to be) the manager were both very apologetic, and the manager waited for me to cut into the second steak to ensure my satisfaction. The waiter comped my carrot cake due to the overcooked steak. Beautiful location, great service, but I think Fleming’s is overhyped. The food quality and the food prices don’t align. I’d probably visit again if I were already in Blue Back square and wanted a cocktail. But any future visits for dining would have to be on someone else’s tab.

Let me start of by talking about my waitress Jeimy Lopez! I came in for the first time by myself & was immediately greeted and welcomed by her. Her professionalism and hospitality is unmatched. She regularly checked up on me to make sure everything was going perfectly. I did the caviar service and she told me about it beforehand and made it special! The atmosphere she created for me is beyond amazing. Not only did she give exceptional service, she gave me a tour of the restaurant while I waited for my entree! How special?! Towards the end she even surprised me with a sparkler lit box of chocolates complimentary because she knew I was celebrating my new job. You can tell she uses her heart to bring the magic of the moment to make it special. I will definitely be returning frequently, and I can not tell you enough how amazing she made my night! Thank you Jeimy!!! I spoke with Michelle as well one of the managers and she was very sweet as well, very very welcoming. 10/10 -Paul

The place looks quite nice. It is elegant and features an open kitchen, allowing you to observe the chefs at work.
We were there for dinner with four people. We waited approximately 1.5 hours for our order (due to issues preparing the Beef Wellington). The long wait, however, was compensated for by a beautifully presented dish.
As a gesture of compensation, the restaurant deducted all our drinks from the bill and offered a platter of cakes. Therefore, the restaurant acted very decently. I highly recommend it!

The service was 10/10, the atmosphere 10/10. I only gave it 4 stars because the food was not as tasty as I would imagine for the price. It was a little bland. The presentation was beautiful and we really did overall had a good time.

Fleming’s is simply a top-notch steakhouse, with food quality, atmosphere, and service that rivals any celebrity chef restaurant I’ve been to (as much as I love Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at Foxwoods, the new beef Wellington dish recently added to the Fleming’s menu is every bit as beautiful and delicious as Gordon’s, with a much more herbaceous, complex flavor profile thanks to the zucchini pesto) and every restaurant I’ve been to in Manhattan as well, right in my own backyard here in Hartford County. I also have to give special mention to the lobster bisque (the sherry flavor and abundance of fresh lobster meat in this soup is exquisite) and the chocolate lava cake (this is one of the only restaurants I’ve been to that understands that a lava cake is supposed to have a molten, runny center, and gets it consistent with each repeat visit. You wouldn’t believe how many “upscale” places will overcook it, but not here), as well as the Japanese A5 Wagyu dish (which I ordered during a previous visit. Admittedly, I did this as a once-in-a-lifetime experience, to celebrate my first day on a new job, entirely skeptical even under those circumstances as to whether or not it would be worth it. I left that evening questioning if I would ever eat another steak again, as it simply doesn’t get any better than A5 Wagyu beef and it is well worth the money to try at least once). Our server, Tony, was wonderful as well, very personable and kind (I found out that he and I not only have a mutual interest in blues music, but that his son is interested in studying computer science, which warms my heart to see somebody else with the same passion for computing technology that I have, as a web developer by trade myself. My point is that it’s nice – in my opinion – when a waiter or waitress is interested in some degree of social connection, as it displays a passion for the job).

In any case, I can’t recommend Fleming’s enough. It’s always a tough choice for me with all the dining options available when visiting West Hartford, but Fleming’s is my number one choice!

Definitely one of my favorite places to go, especially when treating myself. I’ve been to this location quite a few times my server was Adam and he was very fantastic knowledgeable of the meal. Great suggestions and friendly. We decided to get the oysters for appetizers and the Butatta with prosciutto. It was fantastic. Tasty and delicious. For entrée we got the tomahawk steak 35 ounces followed by the mac & cheese, burnt end and crispy brussels sprouts and for dessert the crème brûlée all worth the price absolutely delicious and I’ve come to find out. They do have a nice deal on Tuesday which I will check out to see if it’s worth it All in all. I think the price is fair especially with three drinks on top of the meal for two people and the very large Tomahawk at 35 ounces it came up to 300 cannot complain and this was on a Wednesday evening not crowded. Good setting great vibe Definitely recommended.

Top tier dining here at Flemings in Weha!
Staff is extremely attentive. They also don’t overcrowd the table with your selections. They time them just right so that you can enjoy and savor the flavors of your drinks, apps, entree or dessert. The tomahawk for 2 ($148) was very good. We did request a medium cook but it was in fact rare. Next time we will definitely request medium/well to ensure a perfect steak.

The land& sea prix fix (79.99) was also a great choice with mushroom brie soup, an 8oz filet and crab stuffed shrimp with bananas foster for dessert . Salads with chilled forks- oh my! Beautifully prepared cocktails/ mocktails. The apps of ahi tuna poke stack and burrata with prosciutto were nicely prepared and pleasing to both eye and palate. Overall this was a beautiful birthday evening…the birthday card and firework in the cake was a very nice touch. Kudos Flemings!! We will meet again.

Went to Fleming’s for my birthday. Had a great time.

We were ~10 minutes early, welcomed, and seated within 2-3 minutes. The restaurant is very comfortable, has great atmosphere, and we felt welcomed.

Our server was at the table within an unnoticeable couple minutes. That gave us a chance to check out the menu. We were promptly served water at our request and our drinks arrived in short order. They were very good.

I had the smoked old fashioned. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted great. Smooth, complex, and nice looking. My wife had the Social V&T with seasonable herbs. A nice start to the night.

We ordered a Cesar salad which my wife said was delicious. I had a half dozen oysters and they were fantastic. They came with a side of mignonette and horseradish.

We all ordered steak. They cooked perfectly. I had the Bone-in Prime NY Strip. My family had the Prime NY Strips. They were amazing! Tender, flavorful, well seasoned, and marbling that melted in your mouth, mind blowing. We had shareable mushrooms and lobster mac n cheese, perfect accompaniments. The mac n cheese was decadent and rich.

For dessert, we had coffees, and espresso, to go with our cheesecake, and fruit with Chantilly cream. A great way to end the night. I had a candle and was welcomed with a nice birthday card, nice gestures.

We had a great time, although the last 30 to 45 minutes of our two hour meal service seemed strained or constrained. The restaurant patron volume was busier, but I got the impression that it might have a blend of front and back of the house staff challenges. The temperature of coffees and dessert were just right, but they were slow to get, as were clearing the table and check. I’d also add that it took a while to get the steaks well after our wine arrived.

Overall, we had a great time and the food was marvelous. Looking forward to returning.

I’ve been going here for the past 3 years for my anniversary and every year I love. The tomahawk steak is my absolutely fave, it just melts in your mouth. The complimentary bread is also my fave ( I also ask for more Togo)! The service and vibes are amazing as well. Please visit here if you ever get the chance!
