The atmosphere is inviting and warm. Parking is a challenge. The service was warm and friendly. I went here dinner however the selections are very limited. The dish I wanted to order is only available on lunch. The price is very expensive for the amount of food you get. The 3 sisters soup for $15 was just a tiny bowl. I was given incorrect dessert item from what I ordered. Mint Lemonade was refreshing.

Absolutely delicious food. This was the first time I’ve had African food, and I love it. The Somali ‘samosa’ was a favorite, as well as the chicken over rice.

The coffee was great too. One of the better coffees I’ve had in a while.

This restaurant is such a gem and we’re so lucky that they relocated to our neighborhood. The menu features dishes from cuisines that are harder to find in LA, and are consistently delicious! They also are open during the day for a really pleasant coworking environment, and host interesting events like Ethiopian jazz night or Venezuelan brunch on weekends. I don’t know anywhere else in LA that consistently has such an intriguing line-up of events and seeks to foster a community through its programming, which is something we need so much here!

I did a cooking class there with chef Heidi through the Airbnb app. The team there was lovely, the food was delicious, we had a really beautiful time!

The Somali rice bowl was amazing! The chicken was incredibly soft and tender, and the rice was absolutely delicious and well-seasoned. You can really taste the care put into this dish. Highly recommend!”

I was so happy that they had opened a new location since I was a big fan of the original spot in Little Ethiopia. I’m not sure what happened. All they had was a small menu featuring “Native American food” and after the family meal and a bottle of wine I was out the door for $300 fir two and I got a series of totally BS under seasoned dishes. The salad was terrible. Every other dish was mid at best. The ice cream (native American?) tasted from a box. The server seemed to know nothing about the menu or wine. Maybe you go on a day they have decent food it might be better but the value was terrible. Wouldn’t recommend unless they have menu options outside of the theme like they used to. Why would a struggling place choose Native American and then not be able to execute it. Maybe it was educational that the Natives lived without seasoning.

The concept of this place is great. Every month, the menu changes, depending on the guest chef of the month. The guest chef is a refugee or immigrant from another country, and the dishes reflect their cuisine. A portion of the sales goes to helping people from around the world. This month was Cameroon.

We ordered a TON of food for a group of 6, but all the dishes are easily shareable. An easy way to try a little bit of everything. We had the chicken, lamb, fish, and a bit of appetizers, and baklava for dessert.

In total we spent about $38 per person, but again, we ordered a lot of food, with the intent of sharing all the dishes, so no one dish belonged to one person.

I needed a place to take a lunch meeting in Hollywood and I stumbled upon Flavors From Afar after seeing restaurants near me. LET ME TELL YOU, not only were there outlets a plenty – but the food was BOMB. I got the lamb sambusa bc I was trying to be dainty and not eat too much but I could have literally eaten 87 of those things. I washed it down with a hibiscus drink which was SO refreshing. They do a coworking membership too I think. Not sure what it comes with but honestly it’s the perfect place to work with good prices and a fire vibe. Not to mention everyone was so friendly and kind. DEFINITELY coming back with my laptop!!!

We had an amazing lunch. This month they highlighted Haitian food which is one of my favorites. The food was delicious, perfectly seasoned and tender.
We ordered the VEGGIE LEGUME:
Eggplants, Carrots And Watercress, Black Beans Simmered Slowly In Coconut Milk Based Broth With A Side Of Spicy Haitian Dijon Rice
And
HAITIAN STYLE FRIED GOAT
Thick Savory Pieces Of Fried Goat With Side Of Red Beans And Riced Covered With Gravy And Side Of Pikliz.
The accept cash or card and gratuity is automatically added.
Customer service and food was 10/10.
