I usually go to Dumpling Chinese when the Chinese takeout craving hits but their hot and sour soup wasn’t doing it – so I decided to give Homei a try. I ordered the veggie fried rice with chicken wing special, which comes with a soup. I of course picked the hot and sour. The rice and wings were fine. It’s what you’d expect from a typical Chinese takeout place. The soup here wasn’t good either. It was watery, and neither hot nor sour. This is the second time I had a terrible experience with the woman answering the phone. My address did not attach to my order and came as a pick up. I realized my mistake an hour later. Even though I didn’t catch my mistake of not having my address attached to my order, she was not very helpful. In fact, she said it was my fault and my problem, and when asked to refund she refused, saying she already made it. So now she sent the food, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered online to avoid straining my voice and then I had to anyway, going back and forth when all that was needed was my address. It was my mistake for not adding it, but this person was so unprofessional and rude.

This is our go to Chinese food stop for family nights together and especially when we’re looking go order vegetarian food.
No one makes the mixed vegetables dish as consistently and delicious as this place. It’s our comfort food pick for days we don’t have the energy to cook and don’t want anything fancy. It’s a simple dish that often ends up being overly cooked sappy vegetables, super oily or salty at most places. This place is just right, has a great combination of veggies, such as broccoli, mushrooms, Baby corn, carrots, and my favorite.. celery chunks. The sauce is just right. It’s not overly salty, gunky, or riddled with oil spots. It hits the spot eveny time.
There are very few and rare places that get the simple dishes right like this one..

Got scallion pancakes, fried wonton and general tso chicken combination platter….everything was delicious. The scallion pancakes were so crispy, not oily and the best I’ve ever had. The fried wontons came with some kind of sauce on top which i wasn’t expecting but it was so good, I will definitely order this again. The rice was soft and fluffy (I got it plain with no veggies) very yummy. The chicken was good as well.

First time ordering from here and it has to be the SADDEST place I have ever ordered Chinese food from. The food was just a complete and utter disappointment. Misleading menu options. Menu stated the combination platter would come with pork fried rice. I got plain rice. Drink option stated 2 liter on the menu. I received a 20oz. The fried rice ingredients are ONLY rice, onion, and protein. Its like they’re trying to run a SCAM. Cutting corners and trying to make that extra penny. Pictures are included.
