I am a repeat customer at Flavaz Jamaican Grille, and let me just say — they never miss! Their curry chicken and curry oxtails are hands down the BEST I’ve had. Every visit reminds me exactly why I keep coming back.

There comes a time in every foreigners‘s life when they yearn for home. I was born and raised in Jamaica and whenever I yearn for home, I go straight to Flavaz Jamaican Grille.
It’s not only about the delicious food. It’s about the Customer Service, the professional and fun interactions with staff, the vibes, the music and community.
I grew up cooking authentic Jamaican food with my mom and aunties and I later embodied that tradition with my own children and grandchildren , so I’m very particular about where and what I eat.
Flavaz gets 5 stars from me because i’m always satisfied when I go there to eat.
No matter the day of the week or what your palate desires, whether it’s curry goat, Ackee and saltfish with ground provisions, brown stew chicken, jerk chicken, curry chicken, shrimp, patties, coco bread, oxtails, soup, home juices or snacks you will never ever be disappointed.
The price is reasonable, serving sizes are more than enough. The flavors and aroma keeps your mouth watering, your pallet happy and your tummy full.
The location, cleanliness of the establishment, and the professionalism of their staff adds an extra layer of excellence.
Every time I visit Flavaz, I feel like I’m eating at home in Jamaica.

Living in the Riverview area, we have yet to find a better Jamaican restaurant. Tried several dishes but my fave would be either their brown stew chicken or jerk chicken.

Each time I come in for pick up the lady at the front desk is always rude and seems to have an attitude. Never greeted properly seems like they don’t appreciate customers. Food is mid, I’ve had better jamaican food for less in Tampa. All in all its not worth coming unless your ok with stink attitudes, mid food, and high prices.

My family and I have ordered from Flavaz a few times now and the food is always amazing! Among us we’ve ordered the curry goat, oxtail, fried chicken, beef patties, rice & peas, steamed cabbage, plantains, and mac & cheese. It’s all delicious, but the oxtail holds a special place in my heart, lol.
The staff has always been nice and as quick as you can be with a lot of customers and some food made fresh to order (like the fried chicken). If you don’t want to wait around, I suggest ordering ahead (they have an app!) and going to pick it up around the time the app tells you the food will be ready, but even if you end up having to wait a bit, the food is well worth it.

I tried jerk chicken for the first time when I was 14, and ever since then I’ve never found a Jamaican restaurant as good as the one I had back in Jacksonville, FL… until today.
I walked into Flavaz, ordered jerk chicken, and when she opened the box to show me the food real quick, I knew I had to try it right away. I wasn’t ready for how good this was about to be! I had stuff to do, but NOTHING else mattered once I took that first bite.
The sauce…oh my god… the sauce was unreal. The rice and peas, cabbage, plantains… everything was straight fire I sat in my car and ate the whole thing without stopping.
I can’t wait to tell my friends and family about this spot. Flavaz just blew Jacksonville out of the water!

This place has become one of my favorite places to go too. They are always polite, quick, and deliver great food taste and quality. I have special instructions on my Jerk Chicken Pasta and they never fail me. I try to go at least once a week if not every other week.

Updated review: there was a mix up with my order; the Uber driver dropped off food from a different establishment. I contacted the restaurant and was asked to contact Uber without an offer to refund or replace my $44 order. After talking to Uber it was clear I wouldn’t get any compensation, since I ordered directly from the restaurant’s website.
Then after posting a review, the owner called me personally to offer a meal to replace the one that I’m sure someone else enjoyed. I had already gotten food for somewhere else, so she offered for me to pick it up another day. I did the next day and as always the food was delicious.
I really appreciate their dedication to customer satisfaction.

Such an amazing place, the whole restaurant is very clean ( even restrooms ) and everyone is very humble and respectful. The food did not disappoint it was very great amazing taste, for someone who has never had Jamaican cuisine before i would definitely recommend it. May God bless this establishment

The customer service here sucks! The older lady that works here and is so rude and we will not be returning mostly because of her nasty attitude and her demeanor. She comes off like she’s doing you a favor when you’re patronizing the business. The food is pretty tasty but not enough to deal with her. You definitely need to order ahead because you will be waiting 40 minutes. There is no sense of urgency in this place and I honestly don’t think they care much for the PAYING CUSTOMERS experience. The price of the food is not worth what you get. They fill one corner of the container with protein and that’s it no matter what you order. Had 4 different platters from here and they are all the same. Just be ready for an unwarranted attitude from staff and to stand around waiting with no acknowledgement from them.
