The first time, I got it delivered and even with it arriving less than 15 minutes after ordering, it was inedible. The cherry tastes like medicine. I figure that’s on me, next time I’ll stop in.
The second time, I am at the location. I notice the cherry is a different color, so I sample it and it’s delicious. I mix that with mango, it was actually pretty good. I was happy to try it again, even though the service was horrible.
The third and last time, I am at the location. The young lady seemed upset that I walked in because she had to get up from laying down on two chairs watching her phone screen. She doesn’t speak, just stares as if we’re bothering her. I look at the mango and notice it’s basically orange (last time it was natural, mango colored). Learning my previous lesson about inconsistency, I ask her for a sample.
“Yeah, but you can only have one, so make sure it’s the flavor you’re going to pick.”
I’m confused. So I ask, “Does that mean if I don’t like it, I have to leave?” After all, I want two flavors and I have no idea what these batches taste like.
Finally showing signs of life, she irritability replies, “I’m not the owner,” and some other stuff. I tell her not to worry about it.
I wasn’t trying to give her a hard time. I was genuinely confused about what to do. I was treated as if I were a teenager who cannot afford an overpriced cup of flavored ice, so I planned to steal samples instead. I went to Papa Clyde’s around the corner, where even though they allow unlimited samples, I don’t need one because they know how to make ice cream with consistent flavoring.
All the cheaply made, overpriced frozen food you’ve added to your menu is meant to attract teens…But your business can’t survive selling to people without money. You might want to change your business model, I’ve never seen this place full and now you’re going to lose paying customers with this cheap, embarrassing policy.
Amazing people especially Mike will always come back to the Flava Shack
Ice water and creamy ice available
With pretzel,flatbread options
Small grab and go place next to target had a couple chairs outside but they had ice cream melted on them.
Pricey for shaved iced
It didn’t really have a theme
kind of a mix of dollar store decor
Did not have all flavors in stock
It wasn’t terrible but comparing to other shops I ve been to I am not sure if I would go again

Updating review based on the owner’s voluntary reply when given the opportunity to clear the air about cleanliness and conditions
I took time out to leave a fair review and owner basically called me liar there was absolutely ice cream melted all over the chairs outside forcing me and my family to go sit inside the on bench in target right next to the doors
Then the delusional owner took offense to the description of shaved ice
How’s “frozen water” for product description
Bottom line did not have the flavors listed in stock and there was no where clean to sit
Went to target for napkins and a place to sit
Additionally contrary to website encouraging unlimited samples there were signs posted throughout that there were no samples available.
According to the owners own response I would expect nothing about these mentioned issues to change
Therefore
I will not make another 40 min round trip to go here
Flava Shack has become a weekly stop for us — we’re totally hooked! There are so many delicious Italian ice flavors to choose from (they even have sangria! ), and every one we’ve tried has been amazing. The place is spotless, the quality is top-tier, and it’s clear they put a lot of love into what they do.
On top of that, the owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ended up chatting and he even gave us a great recommendation for authentic NY-style pizza — which turned out to be spot on!
If you haven’t been to Flava Shack yet, do yourself a favor and go. You’ll definitely find a new favorite flavor — or five!
