Flatts Smokehouse is a favorite local spot with the BEST BBQ in town and more! Situated between the University of Rhode Island and the many beaches of South County, we are located in the quaint coastal town of South Kingstown, RI. All of our meat is dry rubbed and smoked in house. All of our sauces are homemade. We also have burgers, salads, sandwiches and offer picnic value meals to go. We also custom cater for any kind of event!

My wife and I recently had dinner at Flatts Smokehouse. We were in the mood for some brisket and BBQ. It was a wonderful experience and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. It’s a super casual spot and down to earth vibe. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Glad I search google food this time around. Really wanted something not the same – found this place. Looked like a house from the outside but once inside, small bar and about 8-10 tables. Started off with nachos with chili. Has to be the one of the best chilis I’ve had in a long time. All of the meals were a very good size and tasted great. Highly suggest the beef brisket – amazing. Def has a locals feel to it – less touristy. Really surprised it wasn’t more crowded – just off the beaten path of the beach town and most likely why it wasn’t as busy? ♂️

Amazing fries for only $5! They give you so many. way better cheap option better than McDonald’s which is about the same price. We walked in at 9 o’clock when the kitchen closes and the lady was so very nice and put our fries through anyways! Thank you so much it was hot and delicious and we will be back!

This was our first time here. We made it in just before the dinner time rush and got a booth. We started with a couple of beers and pulled pork nachos, which were delicious. I had the brisket plate with mac&cheese and coleslaw. The cheese sauce was one of the most flavorful I have ever had; although the macaroni wasn’t gooey with cheese like i usually prefer it, the flavor was amazing. The coleslaw was light and crunchy, and the cornbread added nice sweetness to each bite. I was very happy that the brisket wasn’t smothered in BBQ sauce and could taste the brisket with or without it. The staff was friendly and super attentive. There was live music which we weren’t expecting, so it was definitely a cool atmosphere. Would definitely recommend you try it. We will be back to try more of the menu.

While visiting Newport, RI for my brother’s ashe burial, Flatts Smokehouse was recommended to my family. The food was amazing. Chef Brian cooked everything to perfection. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs during dinner our dinner service and very knowledgeable about the menu. There was 13 family members in attendance who would have given the same review as I have done. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Newport RI.

Excellent experience. Went on a Friday night at 6 , little busy bartenders and wait staff working hard. Food was delicious. baked beans like my swamp Yankee grandma use to make. Live music while we ate nice treat. Had a maple syrup old fashioned was great as well. Will return.

My first time ordering from here. A little disappointing because I had high hopes. Got 8pc wings, crispy and flavorful but they were quite small. Also got the loaded tots, pretty good. I asked for no jalapeños but they left off two other important toppings so that’s a huge bummer. It seemed sorta busy inside but for a Friday, could’ve been busier. Staff seemed grumpy. Might try again another time
