Located right across from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) campus, Flatire Burgers is an Edmond staple known for its bike-themed decor, creative flavor combinations, and high-energy atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that balances being a college hangout with being a family-friendly weekend destination.
The Food: Creative & Over-the-Top
Flatire doesn’t do “plain” very well—and that’s a good thing. They are famous for their Specialty Burgers, which often feature unconventional toppings and massive portions.
The Juicy Lucy: A half-pound patty stuffed with cheddar and topped with even more cheese, bacon, grilled onions, and a fried egg. It’s messy, indulgent, and arguably their most famous item.
The Mac & Cheese Burger: This is exactly what it sounds like, plus grilled onions and jalapeños. It’s a carb-on-carb masterpiece that works surprisingly well. This will likely induce a food coma
Green Chile Spokes: For an appetizer, these roasted, breaded, and flash-fried Anaheim chiles are a must-try. They come with “Rooster Sauce” (a spicy mayo-based dip) that people rave about.

Flatire is a neat burger joint on Ayers Street. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Opening hours are 11am to 9pm (Sun to Wed) and 11am to 10pm to (Thurs to Sat). They have a menu of burgers along with tacos, salads and a range of starters. Flatire has a nice range of draught and bottled beers as well.
Recently dined at Flatire and found the Hickory burger and Green Chili Bacon Burger. Patties were grilled well done and a bit dry but the toppings and sauces were nice, making for pretty good burgers. Fries were nicely seasoned and fried as well. Service very friendly, prices fine for what was served. Would be happy to eat here again.

I went here 3 weeks ago and I’m still thinking about those sweet potato fries! Are they dipped in cake batter? What is the source of that yumminess? I also had the blue cheese burger and it was wonderful! I’m not up that way very often, but i will be back!

Food is fine. Beer is always warm. Cocktails are mediocre. Service is always incredibly slow. Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order then another 20 minutes to get the drinks. Food took almost an hour to get to the table when the restaurant was only about 50% full. Also a restaurant that serves tilapia is a red flag. I’ve tried this place a few times but don’t think I’ll be back.

Shae was our server and she was excellent! Ordered the hickory burger, the flavor is amazing. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and music playing while we enjoyed our lunch. Overall, great experience and we’ll be back!

So this place is by far the best burger place I have ever been to and it was recommended by Chef Kevin Lee. We have been here twice, both times I had the juicy Lucy (scarfed it down like a starving fool) and my wife Danni had the onion burger (this burger was gone lol). The juicy Lucy and onion burger are our top recommendation, you won’t be disappointed. You just found your new favorite burger place. They also have a bar and TV’s (Olympics were on when we were there) for you sport fans.

Wow. Truly a gem of Edmond. The way it has maintained says it all. Tasty of a burger from day one. Was reminded of this place and have recently been back and it lived up to how I remembered since before I could sit at the bar and have a Fat Tire at Flat Tire. Full circle moment? Not sure but what is sure is that the fried pickles are worth it and so is the burger wheat bun, hickory sauce and all the fixings. Yes.

The Atmosphere as soon as you walk in feels amazing! There are bikes hanging from the walls, and the chairs are all the old metal chairs and it just looks great! I first got their cheese tots and they are great! The ranch that came with it was also really good! We got the tots in about 5 minutes from when we ordered and then the burgers took about 10-15 minutes! I got the Juicy Lucy Burger, it is okay, not the greatest burger but I like it! The Juicy Lucy Burger had a lot of food on it, but it didn’t taste like much. There wasn’t any condiment on it at all. It was just a 1/2 a pound of meat, bacon, and an egg, it was a lot of good just not the greatest thing. I added ketchup to it myself and it made the burger SO much better!! I just wish there was something else on the burger. But the service was amazing! They checked up on us at least 3 times in the 30 minutes we were there! They were really nice too!

This place has surprisingly good burgers. They’re fresh and I keep thinking about how good the juicy Lucy burger is. It was so flavorful and fresh. My boyfriend had the turkey Rueben. He liked it but I wasn’t a fan. Needless to say, I shared part of my burger with him. Prices are great. I will definitely be back.
