Although I don’t live nearby, the Flat Rock Village Bakery is a frequent stopover for me if I’m in the area. Their Margarita pizza is awesome and they are very consistent in its preparation. They have a wide variety of genuine wood fired baked goods that utilize natural recipes. Their bread is excellent as well. The outside seating is cozy and pet friendly.

Flat Rock Village Bakery is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm, rustic aroma of fresh-baked bread and wood-fired pizzas. Everything feels homemade and crafted with care. Their pastries are outstanding—flaky, buttery, and full of flavor—and the coffee pairs perfectly.

The wood-fired pizza is a must-try: thin, crisp crust with fresh, high-quality toppings that make every bite memorable. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a relaxing meal or picking up something to take home.

The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to make you feel like part of the community. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again, whether for breakfast, lunch, or a casual afternoon treat.

Flat Rock Village Bakery is truly a local treasure—worth every visit!

This is one of the most unique eateries in the area. Outdoor deck seating under a spreading tree, quiet and relaxing. My club sandwich was great and I may have added a pastry from the glass case full of enticing treats (hello pecan bar)!

This place is a real gem. We stop by whenever we are near (unfortunately we live about 3 hours away). It never disappoints. The breads are wonderful, very tasty. Pizza is divine and are at the top of my all time favorite list. As vegetarians we always get the veggie. Sandwiches are great too. Great desserts and coffee top it off. The ingredients in all their dishes are fresh and flavorful. And atmosphere takes you back I’m time. Like being a hippie again. Lastly the staff is so nice and helpful. I wish I lived closer!

Don’t ask to use the restroom 6 minutes before they open because the answer will be NO! I stepped into the delivery door to ask and after being told no, she closed the door fairly hard. I don’t understand the lack of empathy. I wasn’t trying to cut the line.
Picking up 10 scones for our staff’s breakfast. This place has great bakery items, pizza and sandwiches. I come often and never have been disappointed. Returning for pizza pickup at lunch for a work event also. Have your receipt ready for online purchases. Good thing my co worker sent me the online receipt link since at the register I was told the scones were not part of the lunch order.

Flat Rock Village Bakery nails the wood-fired, thin-crust game — bubbly, crisp edges with a perfectly chewy center. The toppings are fresh, flavorful, and generously applied, and even 35 minutes later it stays hot and delicious.

This is hands-down the best pizza in town — full stop. The classic organic crust is worth every penny, and if you like thin, light, wood-fired rounds, this is your place. It’s always my go-to when I want a standout pie with no fuss and all the flavor.

Love, love this place. The salad and pizza is always what I get and they never disappoint. The wood-fire makes the pizza exceptionally tasty. I love the back deck as it’s spacious and shady. I’ll make a detour on a day trip just to go here. Their bread and pastries are also really good and a stop at the Wrinkled Egg next door is always fun – they have so many cool products from local artists!

This quaint bakery is situated directly on the main street running through Flat Rock. The parking can be difficult, but the food is worth a few extra steps. The staff is bubbly and professional, with warm invitation to enjoy excellent coffee and delicious food. Bagels, bread loaves, cookies, muffins, tarts and quiche are a few of the amazing in house pastries made to perfection. Their food options of pizza and sandwiches are delicious.

I only have one recommendation for improvement. Destroy the recipe for the “ranch”. I have never had a ranch that had lemon in it… It wasn’t ranch. It actually made me quite sad.

Got the worst chicken salad I’ve ever had here.
3rd time visiting hendersonville but our first time eating here and Because of the reviews I thought it was going to be good but unfortunately it was not. The chicken salad was nothing but large pieces of red onion. Barely any chicken or any chicken salad at all on thr two large pieces of tough bread. So it felt like I was eating bread and onions. For thr price it was not worth it. Doesn’t even come with chips or a drink. We got pizzas too and they were disappointing. The pizza cheese was just crumbled cheap parm and super salty. The pizza dough was so thin that you couldn’t pick up the pizza without it sagging towards the floor. Would of been better off with frozen pizza from the grocery store. The only staff that was nice was the girl that took our order and thr lady that was very cheerful and smiling. She helped get some parm cheese for my husband. Because of them I gave the service 2 stars. Unfortunately we will not be trying them again. Spent almost $60 on terrible food.

Went this morning to Flat Rock Village Bakery and grabbed a ham and cheese croissant plus a couple pastries for tomorrow — absolutely incredible. The croissant was spot-on, and the selection of handmade pastries and fresh-baked breads is unreal. Delicious coffee options and a really cool, cozy ambiance to top it off. Highly recommend stopping in if you’re anywhere nearby.
