Garbage. 1. Not even having what’s advertised on the menu. 2. The bland no seasoning tamale, put some salt in the masa. 3. OVERCHARGING! $5 FOR 1 TACO? Went to Chicago last week for what were known as the best tacos in the city and those were valid $5 prices but this? No never, didn’t even come with a drink. Service bad as well.

Flash Taco offers a quick and convenient option for grabbing some Mexican-inspired bites on the go, with a menu that emphasizes speed without completely sacrificing flavor. Their fish tacos stand out with crispy batter and a tangy slaw that adds a nice crunch, and the portion sizes are generous enough to satisfy a midday craving. The drive-thru service is efficient, and prices are wallet-friendly, hovering around $2-3 per taco, making it a solid choice for budget-conscious eaters. The colorful branding and upbeat vibe inside give it a fun, energetic feel that’s perfect for a casual lunch stop.
However, inconsistencies in quality hold it back from being a standout spot. On my last visit, the ground beef tacos were overly greasy and lacked the bold seasoning I’d expect, while the salsa bar felt limited with watered-down options that didn’t pack much heat. Wait times can drag during peak hours despite the “flash” promise, and the seating area could use a refresh—it’s often cluttered and not the cleanest. Overall, it’s decent for a fast fix, but with room for improvement in consistency and execution, it earns a middle-of-the-road rating.

Had some brews at our favorite spot, Sketchbook Brewery in Skokie, and decided to order some tacos from here through Uber Eats. Noticed a few BOGO deals for Elotes as well as their Chicken Tinga. Ordered those as well as a few Steak Tacos (white onion and cilantro) and some tasty salsas (red and green). Steak was not super salty like most spots. Chicken Tinga was some of the juiciest I have had yet not super oily or drippy. Elotes were good and a bit different with what seemed like black pepper as a nice kick. Did not realize this place was a food truck/stand at a park. May check out the actual spot some time.

I am extremely disappointed in the lady working at flash tacos at Oriole pool on 7/22/25 at 6:30pm. I have ordered food here countless times this summer probably spent over $600 on food this summer for my family and friends. I ordered a few bags of chips and steak tacos. I showed the lady a text for $3 off the order that my friend next to mw received. She gave me a look and then took the tacos off my order and said there were no more tacos. No problem at all. I pay for the chips she didn’t even take the $3 off.. no big deal.. the next people in line order steak tacos and pay for them… I go up to the lady and ask her why she told me there were no more tacos? She said I have to wait a long time….. the kids in line got their tacos in 5 minutes. I confronted her again and let her know I will be reporting this. She said she will make me tacos. I said no thank you. Never ordering here again. My home is a 2 min walk away from the pool and I will only bring my own food from now on.

I went to the flash taco at Oriele pool in Morton Grove and they were absolutely horrible. The worst nachos I have ever tasted in my life. Complete was of $10. It was predominantly chips and tomatoes. 80 percent of the chips didn’t have cheese. And there was water at the bottom of the cheese-less nachos.

I’d pay the price of admission just for the tacos.
